(2) Jurisdiction. (a) Nothing in 248 CMR 10.00 shall be construed as applying to: 1. refrigeration; 2. heating; 3. cooling; 4. ventilation or fire sprinkler systems beyond the point where a direct connection is made with the potable water distribution system. (b) Sanitary drains, storm water drains, hazardous waste drainage systems, dedicated systems, potable and non-potable water supply lines and other connections shall be subject to 248 CMR 10.00. 10.02: Basic Principles Founding of Principles. 248 CMR 10.00 is founded upon basic principles which hold that public health, environmental sanitation, and safety can only be achieved through properly designed, acceptably installed, and adequately maintained plumbing systems. -

A lot of my reports are about ways in which the subtle realms interact with ordinary life, so that one is effectively living in two sorts of world at once, the subtle ones and the physical one. In running workshops in this field, I have been struck by how many people need legit- imation for subtle experiences which they have had, but which cannot be categorized in terms of the belief-systems of our dominant culture. -

The Knee Strike
Kinematics Analysis of Muay Thai Knee Techniques Rachnavy P. 1, Khaothin T. 1, Rittiwat W. 2 1 School of Sports Science, Suranaree University of Technology (Thailand) 2 School of Sports Science, Srinakharinthara Wiroj University (Thailand) Purpose: The Knee Strike (This technique is done by raising the knee diagonally to the thigh, rib and side of the body of an opponent.) and Knee Straight (This technique is done by raising the knee straightly to the body of an opponent.) techniques are commonly used in Muay Thai. It is effective for close quarters combat. This paper was to compare knee Strikes and knee straight velocity in Muay Thai. Methods: Five professional boxers performed five knee strikes and five knee straights technique to Muay Thai punching bag. Three-dimensional kinematics of knee Strikes and knee straight technique were recorded via a motion capturing system (Qualisys Systems, Sweden). Results: After data collection, velocities of knee technique were analyses. The t-test was used to compare the means between two techniques. In comparing the knee strike and knee straight techniques, there were significant differences in knee velocity (p < 0.05). The results indicated that the mean values of knee straight velocity (mean 15.15 ± 4.60 m/s) were higher than knee Strike velocity (mean 6.01 ± 1.47 m/s). Conclusions: This study found that velocity of knee straight is higher than velocity of knee strike. It is possible that knee straight technique generated more power than knee strike technique. This finding suggests that choosing the right techniques will help boxer to win a fight. -

Sept. 27, 2019 Log# 19-24 For Immediate Release Six Soldiers win championship titles during 2019 Ohio Army National Guard Combatives Tournament COLUMBUS, Ohio — The sixth annual Ohio Army National Guard Combatives Tournament was conducted Sept. 14 at the Maj. Gen. Robert S. Beightler Armory in Columbus. With over 65 competitors participating in the double-elimination tournament, champions were crowned in six weight divisions. The competition tested the hand-to-hand combat techniques taught and practiced through the Modern Army Combatives Program (MACP), which trains Soldiers how to protect themselves in close quarters battle against threats using a nonlethal response and without firearms. The MACP draws from martial arts and combat sports including wrestling, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, judo, sambo, Muay Thai, and boxing. Following a full morning and early afternoon of preliminary and semifinal matches, the mid- afternoon championship bouts determined the best in each division. The top three placers in each weight division earned gold, silver, and bronze medals, respectively, with each champion getting a title belt that they retain until next year’s competition. Jiu Jistu Basics Some things to remember when you are rst starting: -It is going to be hard. Really hard. -You are confused? That is ok. There are many pieces to jiu jitsu and it will take time for them to all come together. -TAP. Both respect it and use it. When someone taps, immediately let go. When you feel you are in a bad position, or even if you have a tiny bit of doubt, just tap and start again. -You’re probably going to get someone’s hair and/or sweat in your mouth. General Rules: -No grabbing, bending, attacking individual ngers. Just don’t. -No striking, punching or kicking. -No eye gouging or shhooks. -No picking people up and slamming them to the ground. -You can’t grab the inside of the sleeve or pant cu. You can grab inside the top of the pants though. Weird huh? You are going to need: -A gi. You can get a jiu jitsu gi online or at Dojo Outtters here in Portland. You will need a jiu jitsu gi, not a karate gi. They’re thicker and can withstand all the gripping and pulling. -A white belt. This signies your rank and keeps your top closed. -A water bottle. You’re going to get tired and thirsty during practice. We have a water cooler behind the front door where you came in. -A mouth guard. This is optional, but it will be helpful. Though there is no striking in jiu jitsu, it is a combat sport. Wearing a mouth guard is a good idea. -
