111th ASA Annual Meeting • 64th CSSA Annual Meeting • 83rd SSSA Annual Meeting

As Program Chairs of the American Society of Agronomy, Crop Science Society of America, and Soil Science Society of America, we welcome you to the 2019 International Annual Meeting . We are very excited about this year’s program theme, "Embracing the Digital Environment,” a theme that is woven throughout the sessions and symposia during this week . Our innovative science addressing today’s grand challenges will be greatly strengthened by the broad interdisciplinary expertise across our three societies . Highlights of this year’s program include the Opening Keynote presentation by Joe Cornelius, Global Development Director of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation on Sunday evening, followed by a Welcome Reception in the exhibit hall . Alex McBratney, Director of the Sydney Institute of Agriculture will present the SSSA plenary (Nyle C . Brady Frontiers of Soil Science Lectureship) on Monday morning . For the ASA plenary (Dr . & Mrs . E .T . York, Jr . Lectureship) on Tuesday morning, Cyndy Parr and Andy Jarvis will share the podium for complimentary lectures and a panel discussion . Kim Kidwell, Dean of the College of ACES, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign will deliver the CSSA Plenary (Betty Klepper Endowed Lec- tureship) on Wednesday morning . Numerous tours and workshops are also provided for your professional enrichment, and an expanded Closing Reception will round out our time together on Wednesday evening . San Antonio is a great location for our meeting and November is a perfect time to visit . You can par- ticipate in the 5K Run/Walk on Tuesday morning or sign up for one of the many tours . Tuesday night is Movie Night, and will feature a screening of the movie, "Food Evolution," with popcorn and refreshments . The Henry B . Gonzalez Convention Center is nestled in the heart of the historic downtown area along the banks of the world famous River Walk, the largest urban ecosystem in the nation . Be sure to stroll, shop and dine along the winding path, explore nearby attractions like the Alamo, and immerse yourself in the history of the San Antonio Missions . We thank you for contributing to the success of our Societies' Annual Meeting . We also thank our spon- sors and exhibitors who have helped finance and enrich this year’s meetings . We are grateful to the Division Chairs and Community Leaders who have tirelessly taken on the challenge of linking various sessions to the “Digital Environment” theme . Finally, we give a special thanks to the headquarters staff of ASA, CSSA, and SSSA who have worked diligently to make this a tremendous annual event . We wish you a great week in San Antonio!

24 2017 Tampa, FL 2019 Graduate Student Leadership Conference November 9-10, 2019 • San Antonio, TX

The ASA, CSSA, and SSSA Graduate Student Committee hosted the 5th annual Graduate Student Leadership Conference on November 9-10, just prior to the start of the ASA, CSSA, and SSSA International Annual Meeting. Students were selected in a highly competitive application process. The conference, developed by students and for students, featured sessions designed to build on their leadership and communications skills and offered many networking opportunities. Sessions included profes- sionalism, leadership ethics, leadership (using personalized DISC assessments), positive conflict resolution, building networks, and opportunities for involvement with the Societies. Congratulations to our Students
