Starship Jubilee has her first preference listed as the Filly and Mare Turf while Windy City Red has the Juvenile Turf Sprint list- ed as his first choice. Final entries for the Breeders’ Cup will take place Monday, Nov. 2 at Keeneland. This year, Starship Jubilee has won five of six stakes including the Grade 1 Ricoh Woodbine Mile at Woodbine on Sept. 19 in her most recent race. She also won the Grade 2 Ballston Spa Stakes at Saratoga on July 25, the Grade 2 Hillsborough Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs on March 7, the Suwanee River Stakes (G3) at Gulfstream Park on Feb. 8 and the Sunshine Millions Filly and Mare Turf, also at Gulfstream, in January. Her only loss in the year came when she ran fourth behind winner Rushing Fall in the Grade 1 Diana Stakes at Saratoga on Aug. 23. Starship Jubilee is owned by Blue Heaven Farm and was bred in Florida by William P. Florida-bred March to the Arch/COADY PHOTO Sorren. She has won 19 of 38 career starts while accumulating $2,093,069 in earnings. Should Starship Jubilee enter the Breeders’ Cup Mile, she will likely face her Florida-bred rival March to the Arch, who was just a length shy of her when he was second in the Woodbine Mile. Owned by Charlotte Weber in the name of her Live Oak Plantation and bred by her Live Oak Stud, March to the Arch took the Grade 2 King Edward Stakes two starts back at Woodbine on Sept. 15. The Mark Casse trainee has won seven of 24 career races with earnings of $849,705 so a finish in the top three would promote him into the Florida-bred millionaire club which currently has nearly 175 members. Three Florida-breds have entered the $2 million Breeders’ Cup Sprint set for 3-year-olds and older at six furlongs including Collusion Illusion, C Z Rocket and Firenze Fire. The most accomplished of that trio is Firenze Fire, who would join Precisionist and Pure Sensation as the only Florida-breds with four appearances in the Breeders’ Cup should he start next Saturday. He was seventh in the 2017 Sentient Jet Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1) won by Good Magic, fourth in the 2018 Breeders’ Cup Mile won by City of Light and was last year fifth to Mitole in the Sprint. Collusion Illusion won the Grade 1 Bing Crosby Stake at Del Mar on Aug. 1 and has since finished third in the Grade 2 Santa Anita Sprint Challenge won by fellow Florida-bred C Z Rocket on Sept. 27. Collusion Illusion is trained by Mark Glatt for Dan J. Agnew, Rodney E. Orr, Jerry Schneider and John V. Xico and was bred in Florida by Donald R. Dizney. SUNDAY, 13 OCTOBER 2019 AUGHAMORE ON THE RISE PINATUBO PASSES By Amy Lynam DEWHURST TEST This has been a standout year for Aughamore Stud, both in the sales ring and on the race track. Run by brothers Laurence and Michael Gleeson, the breeding and consigning operation based outside Mullingar in County Westmeath has quietly been making a name for itself by preparing yearlings to the highest level. The Goffs UK Premier Yearling Sale marked a sort of coming of age for the brothers, with many taking notice of the calibre of individuals they had brought to the sale in their third year there. Their draft consisted of three pinhooks. The first-crop Territories colt was bought as a foal by Hamish Macauley and Howson & Houldsworth Bloodstock for 20,000gns, while Macauley signed for a first-crop daughter of Kodi Bear in February for i25,000 and a colt by proven sire Dandy Man cost i35,000 at the same sale. Pinatubo turns back Arizona in the Dewhurst | racingfotos.com From humble beginnings, their pinhooks produced a median of ,80,000 and average of ,66,333--just ,600 off the average By Tom Frary returned by the established and ultra-successful Yeomanstown With the ground riding softer than it had for him throughout Stud. It is not an achievement they have taken lightly, Laurence his momentous campaign, Godolphin=s juvenile champion elect insists. This report includes information on revenue, award payments, research funding, promotional spending and operational improvements made during the past year. The performances of registered New York-breds on racetracks and in sales pavilions, as well as the expansion of farms during the past year, demonstrate that the Fund is accomplishing its mission to “support by monetary incentives the responsible breeding of quality Thoroughbred racehorses in keeping with the founding legislation to preserve New York’s irreplaceable farm land.” The award programs administered by the Fund are demonstrably encouraging people to breed, buy and race our home-grown product. The Fund is a pass-through organization that collects revenue from the racing industry and sends a minimum of 91% of that revenue back to stakeholders in the form of agricultural awards, purse enrichment for NY-breds and support for equine research.
