Authority: Ordinance 3106 adopted April 14, 1987. San Mateo County Ordinance Code sections 9600-9614 (Building regulations). Membership: 5 members who shall reside in the unincorporated area of San Mateo County; at least 1 member shall be a domestic resident of the "Skyline-South Coast" region of the County; at least 1 member shall be a domestic resident of the "Mid-Coast" region of the County; at least 3 members shall have technical licensed backgrounds and be actively engaged in one or more of the construction trades regulated by the codes referenced in the description of duties. Duties: Reviews and provides comment on the needs of low income households and families and priorities related to the use of the Community Development Block Grant funds received by San Mateo County on behalf of itself and 16 participating cities; provides a forum for community input into needs and priorities benefiting low income people, and serves as liaison to the Director of the County's Office of Housing. Appointment: Board of Supervisors; city representatives are nominated by the Council of Cities; community groups shall nominate the representatives from North Fair Oaks and the Coast side; Commission on Aging representative shall be nominated by the Commission on Aging: members-at-large are solicited through public advertisement by the Clerk of the Board.
