Authority: Ordinance 2614 adopted October 16,1979, creating Division VI, Section 6358; Board actions May 26, 1981, March 26, 1985 and November 7, 1995 Membership: 18 members including 9 active Farmers/Growers, 3 public members, the County Agricultural Commissioner, the State Agricultural Advisor, 1 Banker involved with the Production Credit Association (CA), 1 member involved in Agricultural Marketing and 2 Conservationists. Authority: Revenue and Taxation Code Section 1622 Membership: A person shall not be eligible for appointment unless he has a minimum of 5 years professional experience in the State of California as one of the following: certified public accountant or public accountant, licensed real estate broker, attorney, property appraiser accredited by a nationally recognized professional organization, or is a person possessed of competent knowledge of property appraisal and taxation. Term: 3 years; maximum 12 years Duties: To increase after giving notice, or to lower upon application, individual assessments in order to equalize the local tax assessment roll.
