POPA LE MOUVEMENT LITTÉRAIRE PARADOXISTE This is an amazing little volume and a paradox all of its own. It is published in the United States, in a French translation of a compilation of essays from the original Romanian made jointly by Paul Georgelin and the man it is all about: Smarandache. Florentin Smarandache, currently associate professor of mathematics at the University of New Mexico University, is a Romanian exile who has spent years in Turkish refugee camps and who lost many of the manuscripts that he had tried to get out of the country during the Ceausescu era. He is a Leonardo de Vinci Renaissance-type man-of-all-trades: mathematician, philosopher and writer in three languages (Romanian, French and English), inventor of another and artist . The essay titles are: 1. QU'EST QUE C'EST LE PARADOXISME? - What is paradoxism? This section defines firstly "paradox" (in the words of Alexandre Paleologu as l'alarme de l'intelligence, un contact inédit avec la vérité — the alarmbell of the mind, a unique contact with truth and secondly traces the history of Romanian avant-garde literary and artistic movements which grew out of contacts with Marinetti, Breton and Apollinaire. After briefly reminding the reader of the influence of Tristan Tzara (dadaism), Brancusi, Victor Brauner and Ionescu, the essay jumps to the development of the paradoxist movement out of 1960s postmodernism, and in particular to the work of Florentin Smarandache. 2. LA TRADITION DU PARADOXISME — The tradition behind paradoxism. A brief history of the movement, with examples of poetry by Urmuz, Mihail Cosma, Ion Vinea, and Luca all of whom 7 Editor – Florentin SMARANDACHE reject formalism and who produce various degrees of anti- poem ending logically (their logic not mine) in the non-poem (sometimes mere lists or haphazard consonant clusters or stutterings). Some are in French, some in Romanian (for which I don't have all the diacritics. An example is this one by Gherasim Luca: …vreau sa zic mînîmmîinimîini mîini mîinile sssss sss ssssss ssss... of which only the first two words, "vreau sa", meaning "I would like to" are recognizable; "zic" is the Romanian for "proverb" chopped in half, the rest (22 lines) mere letters... The poem literally peters out into pure sound. 3. LES MECANISMES DU PARADOX — The mechanism of paradox. 4. UN FRANC-TIREUR PARADOXISTE — A paradoxist sniper A collection of collage poems (one entitled Emigrant Day records the poet-artist's arrival in the land of freedom) and drawings and a "verses noires" (for "vers noirs", no doubt) which is simply a black square on the page. Smarandache has invented a language of his own "pirissanorench" spoken only by himself of which this extract from the poem RTFGJKMNB is an example: Sfd ffghrt plkl. Xvnvbvnnmm dfgshrqpz dfgshrqpz !! 5. ADDENDA: A letter (or poem... it's hard to tell) by Smarandache and a sensible letter back from a Romanian professor thanking the poet for his Nonpoems, and sympathising with his ideas, but warning him that creativity cannot go from something to nothing, that it must tend towards something, or die. I heartily agree with him! 8 Sixth International Anthology on Paradoxism Even if the French translation is at times rather quaint, I found myself drawn into the reading out of sheer curiosity. I have a lot of sympathy with a protest movement that grew out of life in a totalitarian state and admiration for such a polyglot. If you do nothing more, look him up on the www! NEW HOPE INTERNATIONAL - review on-line http://www.nhi.clara.net/bs0528.htm reviewer: Jacqueline Karp-Gendre. NEUTROSOPHIC DEGREE OF A PARADOXICITY Florentin SMARANDACHE University of New Mexico, Gallup Campus, USA 1. Definition of a Paradox. A paradox is called a statement <P> which is true and false in the same time. Therefore, if we suppose that statement <P> is true, it results that <P> is false; and reciprocally, if we suppose that <P> is false, it results that <P> is true. 2. But there are statements that do not completely obey this definition. We call a Semi-Paradox a statement <SP> such that either supposing that <SP> is true it results that <SP> is false (but not reciprocally), or supposing that <SP> is false it results that <SP> is true (but not reciprocally). So, the statement has a degree of 0.50 (50%) of a paradox, and 0.50 of a non-paradox. 3. Three-Quarters Paradox. 3.1. Definition. There are cases when a statement <QP> can be between a paradox and a semi-paradox. For example: a) If we suppose that the statement <QP> is true, it results that <QP> is false, but reciprocally if we suppose that the statement <QP> is false, it may be possible resulting that <QP> is true. Therefore, the second implication (conditional) does not always occur. 9 Editor – Florentin SMARANDACHE b) Or, if we suppose that the statement <QP> is false, it results that <QP> is true, but reciprocally if we suppose that the statement <QP> is true, it may be possible resulting that <QP> is false. Therefore, the second implication (conditional) does not always occur.

Keeping the Doors Closed: Leadership Selection in Post-Communist Romania Sergiu Gherghina Institute of Political Science Leiden University [email protected] Mihail Chiru Department of Political Science Central European University [email protected] Maria Pop Department of Applied Law University of Pisa [email protected] Paper prepared for the 25 th Annual Conference of the Italian Society of Political Science Palermo, September 8-10, 2011 Workshop: “Roberto Michels revisited (1911-2011): Partiti, leadership e membership. Un equilibrio ancora in costruzione” Abstract: Our paper is the first systematic exploration of the leadership selection process in the Romanian party system. We use process-tracing and qualitative tools, employing data from party statutes and documents of the national conventions. We focus on the parliamentary political parties throughout the entire post- communism period. The analysis shows that nothing has changed at the level of centralization of decision and inclusiveness with the members’ involvement remaining marginal in all parties. The competitiveness of the internal elections presents a more diverse and dynamic picture. We propose a novel typology for cross-cases comparisons that illustrates the association between informal decentralization and increased competitiveness. Second, we advance explanations for the persistence of the ‘exclusiveness’ status quo, that take into account intra-organizational, institutional and exogenous factors. Introduction The fall of communism in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) coincided with the (re)appearance of multi-party systems where independent actors had the chance to form elected governments. As first post-communist institutional actors, the political parties grew on the crude soil of no prior competition (Kitschelt 1992; Mair 1997), lack of representation, and any democratic experience for half of century (Lewis 1996).

  • Microsoft the Guardian Angel Vol 2
PREFACE There is no way I can begin my second volume of the trilogy “MICROSOFT – the Guardian Angel” without firstly focusing on one of the most serious allegations in my first book, issued in June, an allegation that was also printed on cover IV of the volume. I quote accurately: As a result of five years of reporter investigations, I have the feeling that the IT giant was imposed on the market using heavy political police instruments. Even if no blame can be brought – for now – on Bill Gates’ company, the mega-business has only one beneficiary: the MICROSOFT COMPANY. Consequently we will have to shed some light on my legitimate interest in this trilogy. I have also taken to make the case public to meet the directions and recommendations of the European Union, which call for such situations be made public, throughout the entire community territory, precisely for a broader acknowledgement of the criminal phenomenon and of high level corruption. In other words, to quote Monica Macovei a Romanian EP: “let’s not pretend we’re unaware” of what this is about and how we should go about the generalized corruption in Romania. This is because Europe considers software and IT&C development as a strategic field, 8 MICROSOFT THE GUARDIAN ANGEL - UM 0666 9 of major importance for innovations in information categories as “ok”, “uncertain” and “action needed” technology, so that the old continent should be in the (see Appendix 1). position to enter an equal competition with the USA, Likewise, the ECIS Report speaks about on legal grounds, mutually agreed by the two parties.

LABORATOR PROBLEMATIC - Livia Dandara JURNAL - OPINII – ARGUMENTE - EŞECURI - MEDITAŢIE Preambul DE CE TAC ISTORICII ?
