It is the fith episode in the first season. Adventure Time: Fionna & Cake is the fith episode overall. After he draws Cake onto her lap, Fionna makes an attempt to put her head on his lap as well, but he pushes her away, saying, "Come on, Fionna, don't be weird. She then sings "All Gummed Up Inside" to express her misery and starts moaning in pain knowing that it's hopeless to win Prince Gumball's heart, leaving Cake and BMO feeling sorry for her. In an attempt to cheer Adventure Time: Fionna & Cake up, Cake seeks a new love interest for Fionna, leaving BMO to watch over her. While walking, Cake hears what sounds like a boy's scream and stumbles across Flamboet, who is being attacked by Iron Owls. After saving her, Cake asks Flamboet if she knows any princes Fionna's age. Flamboer then tells Adventure Time: Fionna & Cake about a "hot" Prince in the Fire Kingdom. When they get there, Flamboet casts a "Flame Shield" on Cake so it will be safe for her to go in. Cake then checks on Fionna, who's desperately trying not to cry. Cake goes into the castle and introduces himself as the "Baroness of the Grasslands" to the Flame Queen, and then attempts to win over the Flame Princes for "Princess" Fionna. First, she offers a water bottle which he accidentally kills the Flame Jester with. Flame Queen states that she hated her jester. Cake's second attempt is to sing "All Warmed Up Inside" as a serenade. Flame Queen is not impressed with the song and demands that Cake leave. Fionna is now bawling and tells BMO to go away. The Flame Queen demands to know why Fionna isn't here, so Cake stretches her stomach to look like Fionna, who greets the Flame Queen and offers her a koala bear made with Cake's stretchy powers. Though koalas are the Flame Queen's favorite animal, she Adventure Time: Fionna & Cake the gift, saying she no longer likes koala bears. Fake Fionna begins to cry and Cake tries to cheer her up, but she loses control of fake Fionna who begins to attack her and seemingly kill her. This impresses the Flame Queen who states that a princess who is willing to kill her own buffoon is welcome to date her evil, destructive son, much to Cake's horror. Flame Prince walks over to the Fionna-shaped-Cake and embraces her. Some fire elementals and Cake remark that she actually seems normal and Flame Prince responds by shooting fire at them and turning them into flambits. Upon observing this, Cake concludes that she is an evil prince. Cake makes his Fionna say that she does not like him anymore. Flame Prince is enraged, causing mass chaos with his destructive fire powers. Cake attempts to flee to the tree house, but he follows her in his flaming, monstrous form and sets the tree house aflame. Cake tries to warn Fionna, but Fionna does not notice or care because of her depression over Prince Gumball. The fire soon spreads inside the tree fort, destroying Fionna's pictures of Prince Gumball before her eyes. Fionna becomes enraged by this, vowing to kill whoever started the destructive fire. She looks out the window to see Flame Prince's monster form scaling the tree fort. Flame Prince accidentally ignites Prince Gumball's remaining liquid fireworks. This makes Fionna even more furious, and she shouts at his to not touch Prince Gumball's stuff. The rain resulting from the Liquid Pyrotechnics hits Flame Adventure Time: Fionna & Cake, dousing out his flames. He briefly passes out and, using Prince Gumball's lock of hair as a support, Fionna catches Flame Prince in her arms. He wakes up soon after and asks Fionna why she doesn't like him. Fionna immediately replies that she does like him, causing him to blush. As it stops raining outside, Flame Prince slaps Fionna, leaving a pink mark on her face. The concept of Fionna and Cake was based on sketches Adventure Time: Fionna & Cake series' character designer and storyboard revisionist Natasha Allegri made. Ward was pleased with her creations, and decided to canonize them. Originally, the episode did not feature the Ice Queen at all, and the middle part of the episode saw Fionna go on a date with Gumball to a restaurant; this subsequently changed. The episode was Adventure Time: Fionna & Cake by 3. Fionna and Cake are helping Prince Gumball decorate for the Biennial Gumball Ball when Gumball asks Fionna if she would like to go to it tonight with him. Their conversation is interrupted when the Ice Queen breaks into the castle and tries to kidnap Gumball. Fionna and Cake start to fight her before she mysteriously disappears. Gumball who is apparently unharmed arranges a date with Fionna. Cake decides to come along to help Fionna out. The group then flies through the air while Gumball serenades Fionna with the song "Oh, Fionna" and eventually asks her to be his girlfriend. When Fionna and Cake get to the ball, Prince Gumball takes Fionna to his room decorated with candles and rose petals and locks the door. She becomes flustered Adventure Time: Fionna & Cake backs away when he begins to take his shirt off. A drop of water lands on her shoulder, she looks Adventure Time: Fionna & Cake to see the real Prince Gumball trapped inside a giant icicle on the ceiling. The fake prince is revealed to be Ice Queen. Fionna is soon incapacitated; Cake senses trouble and rushes to her rescue. Enraged by the deception, Fionna takes out the crystal sword to fight. Cake hears noises from downstairs and senses Fionna is in trouble. Undaunted, Fionna uses the ice Adventure Time: Fionna & Cake beat Ice Queen over the head. Ice Queen pushes her off with a burst of snow which allows Fionna to get close to enough to break Prince Gumball free and knock out the Ice Queen with a broken icicle. Cake bursts in and sees Gumball standing next to Fionna in her torn dress; she jumps to the wrong conclusion and lunges at him but Fionna stops Cake and tells her it was the Ice Queen all along. Just then Ice Queen recovers and blasts Cake away from Fionna only to have Fionna knock her magic tiara off which negates her powers. The real Gumball asks Fionna on a date and is turned down; Fionna notes that she does not need a boyfriend at the moment. The episode reveals that the Adventure Time: Fionna & Cake story was a fanfiction created by the that he is reading to Finn and Jake who are incapacitated in ice. The Ice King asks how they enjoyed his story; Finn hesitates at first but hurriedly placates him when Ice King threatens them with his ice powers. It is the sixty-first episode Adventure Time: Fionna & Cake. Fionna the gender-swapped version of Finn puts up with the sudden courtship of Prince Gumball the gender-swapped version of while taking advice from her partner Cake the gender-swapped version of Jake in dealing with guys. The episode Adventure Time: Fionna & Cake with alternate versions of Finn and Jake, using gender swapped characters. Fionna rushes to the balcony and sees the Ice Queen coming down from dark clouds to kidnap Prince Gumball. She breaks into the castle, forms a slush beast around Adventure Time: Fionna & Cake and goes after Gumball. Cake turns into a morning star that Fionna uses to smash the slush monster, with Ice Queen and Gumball inside. The room fills with snow, and Prince Gumball appears unharmed, but Ice Queen has mysteriously vanished. Prince Gumball then asks Fionna to "go out" with him, and Cake agrees for her to meet him again in an hour at the Castle Gardens. Cake insists that he did, and decides to come along Adventure Time: Fionna & Cake help Fionna, taking her dulcimer with her as a "conversation starter" the alternate instrument to Jake's Violaapparently. Fionna reluctantly agrees to this, and they go meet Prince Gumball at the Castle Gardens. Prince Gumball is joined by Lord Monochromicorn. The group races there, and Fionna and Prince Gumball jump off their friends and into the flowers. Suddenly Prince Gumball dives under the flowers and disappears. Panicking, Fionna dives after him and pulls him out. Gumball explains he saw a pearl pygmy skull in the flowers that reminded him of Fionna's sparkling eyes. Fionna giggles, her eyes growing wide and glimmering like Gumball's. The flight ends when Cake and Lord Monochromicorn drop Fionna and Prince Gumball off in a grassy field, leaving them alone together. After lying on the ground talking for a while, Prince Gumball asks Fionna to come to the ball with him as his girlfriend. Fionna rushes back to the Tree Fort and excitedly yells to Cake that she is now going to the ball as Gumball's girlfriend. After Cake dresses her up in a fancy gown, Fionna asks how she is supposed to fit weapons in her purse. Ice Queen gets knocked down by the broken icicle pieces just before Cake bursts into the room. Seeing Gumball standing next to Fionna in her torn Adventure Time: Fionna & Cake, Cake jumps to the wrong conclusion and lunges at the prince. Fionna stops Cake from hurting Gumball and tells her it was the Ice Queen all along. Just then Ice Queen recovers and blasts Cake away from Fionna with a torrent of icicles. Fionna knocks her magic Adventure Time: Fionna & Cake off, squelching her powers, and then punches her for "yanking her heart-guts. Fionna swats the tiara off Cake's head, saying, "you'll catch her crazy! Fionna decides she does not need a boyfriend because she knows who she is and that she is not interested at the moment, but adds that she would give anything to date the Ice King. Cake agrees, saying "Ice King is the real deal! The sequence is identical to the regular version, although most of the characters Sugar Cube is one exception are replaced by their gender-swapped counterparts. In the theme song, the sky is seen a lighter shade of blue, and the mountain that the main characters climb at the end does not have skulls, as opposed to the regular theme song. Also on the cliff, Cake appears to be sleeping, as opposed to Jake, whose eyes were open. Cupcake and Tree Trunks have had their genders reversed. Where Gingerbread Muto usually appears on the castle balcony, a Gingerbread Rebecca can be seen instead, which is appropriate because Adam Muto and Rebecca Sugar were the storyboard artists for this episode. After the original airing of the episode, the regular Adventure Time intro usually has been used with this episode.
