Narrator: God sent prophets to His people, Israel, to foretell the coming of a savior. The world was waiting.

Narrator: Isaiah the prophet said,“Behold, a virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.”

O, Come Emmanuel (1st verse English) O come, O come, Emmanuel And ransom captive Israel That mourns in lonely exile here Until the Son of God appear.

Narrator: And in the fullness of time God would send his son. God sent the angel Gabriel to a young virgin named Mary.

(Gabriel): “Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with you! And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name .”

(Mary): “How can this be?”

(Gabriel): “With God nothing will be impossible.”

(Mary): “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord; let it be done to me according to your word.”

Narrator: And Joseph went up to with Mary, who was with child. And she gave birth to her first-born son and wrapped him in swaddling cloths, and laid him in a , because there was no place for them in the inn.

(Angel 1): Be not afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people; for to you is born this day a savior who is Christ the Lord.

(Angel 2): And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.

All Angels: Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to people of good will!

Joy to the World! Joy to the World the Lord is come. Let earth receive her King. Let every heart prepare him room. And heav'n and nature sing, and heav'n and nature sing. And heav'n and heav'n and nature sing.

(Shepherd): Let us go over to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened.

Narrator: And they went with haste, and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby lying in a manger.

Away in a Manger Away in a manger, no crib for a bed, The little Lord Jesus laid down his sweet head; The stars in the bright sky looked down where he lay, The little Lord Jesus asleep on the hay.

Narrator: And all who heard it wondered at what the shepherds told them.

Go Tell it on the Mountain Go tell it on the mountain, over the hills and everywhere! Go, tell it on the mountain that Jesus Christ is born!

Narrator: And wise men from the east came to Jerusalem saying,

(Wise Man ): “Where is he who has been born king of the Jews? For we have seen his star in the East, and have come to worship him.”

Narrator: And behold, the star came to rest over the place where the child was. And going into the house they saw the child with Mary his mother, and they fell down and worshiped him.
