In its traditional program, the University of Mount Olive offers more than 40 majors. The average class size at UMO is less than 25, so every student has the opportunity to get personal attention. Students also have the opportunity to compete on 20 highly competitive NCAA Division II intercollegiate athletics teams. In 2008, the baseball team won the NCAA Division II Baseball Championship. In addition to programs for recent high school graduates and college transfers, UMO also offers one-night-a-week baccalaureate and associate degree programs for adult students. These programs are offered at University of Mount Olive locations in Mount Olive, New Bern, Wilmington, Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, Research Triangle Park, Washington and Jacksonville and in Smithfield at Johnston Community College. The university also offers online programs, including the RN to BSN program, criminal justice and criminology, and the master of business administration degree.
