The little village is well known for W hosting one of the finest Market faires in all of England each year to celebrate the harvest. The small town is buzzing with excitement as they prepare to welcome Her Royal Majesty, Queen Elizabeth. Affectionately known as Elizabeth Gloriana, she is scheduled to make an appearance at today’s festivities. She is known to favor the talented crafters and brewers found in this lively village. Entertainers from throughout Europe fill the streets and stages with traditional music, dance and comedy. Featured Artisan: Stuart Abelman Daily Glassblowing Demonstration at the Glass Blowers Stage Stuart uses his own formulas and the finest silica sand to ensure the purest quality glass possible. Each piece is made entirely of hot molten glass and is worked and completed at the furnace. All the colors and design patterns are formed from the hot glass. No paint is used. Many of the beautiful colors are made with gold, silver and other precious metals. Stuart has journeyed through so many new frontiers in the American hand blown art glass studio movement including extensive commission work for the movie and entertainment industry and was once heard to say, “I have been working with hot glass for over thirty-five years and I am certain it runs through my veins.” Check the schedule at the Glass Blowers Stage for times or stop by the Abelman Art Glass booth for more information.
