Received: 8 December 2016; Revised: 12 May 2017; Online: 17 May 2017. Introduction The members of the family Scoliidae are (Betrem) (Gupta & Jonathan, 2003). Here commonly known as hairy wasps usually with eighteen species are documented from various strong sexual dimorphism and are distributed districts of Bhutan of which 17 species are new globally. They are used as agents for insect pest record from the country. control. The larvae are parasitoid of coleopteran larvae of family Scarabaeidae, which are forest Materials and Methods and agricultural pests but adults feed on nectar A total of 49 specimens were studied (Gupta & Jonathan, 2003). This group is from various districts of Bhutan. Specimens differentiated by the close striolate wing were euthanized with Ethyl Acetate and studied membrane beyond the cells of forewing and the under stereoscopic microscope. Photographs meso- and metasternum forming a flat plate were taken using Nikon D5100 with attached covering the bases of the mid and hind coxae. Seventy nine species are recorded from based on the keys and descriptions provided by Indian sub-region but knowledge on scoliid Bingham (1897), Gupta & Jonathan (2003), wasps of Bhutan is very limited with only three Kumar (2009a & 2009b; 2015), Kumar & species, Scolia (Discolia) sikkimensis Bingham, Sharma (2015) and Kumar & Pham (2015).
