NIOB STAB? APPOINTMENT
(by the Direct0r—Genera1)
DIVISIONALBADER
Dr. M. Jacob has been Leader of the Theoretical Physics (TH) Division since 1 July 1982 and his current appointment terminates on 30 June 1988. In line with the present policy to have a certain rotation in the appointments of Directors and Division Leaders, especially in the research area, it is not proposed to extend Dr. Jacob's appointment beyond the usual six-year term.
It is proposed therefore to appoint Dr. John Ellis as Leader of the TH Division for a period of three years as from 1 July 1988. Dr. Ellis is at present a senior physicist in the Division; his curriculum vitae and list of publications are given in the Annex. This proposal has the full support of the Director—Genera1 designate.
The Scientific Policy Committee is invited to give its support to this proposal and Committee of Council is asked to formally recommend their approval to Council at its June 1988 Session.
