Thinkcarefully feiiiRTOpo— — — — j The threelong weeksare finally over. This evening, aftermuch an- j \^~ i ticipation, Davidson freshmen willat lastbe able to set footinPatterson Court houses for the first time. The"freshmonslaught" has begun. Of course, it wasn't always likethis. Itused tobe that freshmen could visit the Court as soon as they ar- rived at Davidson. All through the first weeks of the term, and some- times even during orientation, houses threw wild bashes at which freshmen were themost importantguests. "Rush'began inearnesteven before the first classes, no holds barred. Self-sdection imposed some quirky restrictions on things like "oral discouragements" and so forth, butby andlarge the freshman assault onthe Court (or,ifyouprefer, the Court's assault on the freshmen) proceeded in afree, open and unhin- -*— dered fashion.
