Innovative technology of phosphorites processing ........................... 351 PREFACE We are glad to present the multi- authored monograph "Resources and resource-saving technologies in mineral mining and processing" The problem of introduction of re- source-saving technologies is one of the essential ones facing the mining and processing industry and scientists look- ing for its solution. The multi-authored monograph deals with the essence of resource-saving as well as arising problems of introducing resource-saving tech- nologies and ways to solve them. The authors consider technologies of mining and processing iron ores, coal, copper bearing poly-metallic and uranium ores. All the monograph papers are united by a common aim of developing and introducing efficient resource-saving technolo- gies enabling us to mine mineral deposits and process mineral products. The authors hope that the monograph materials will be of in- terest to a wide audience of specialists in mining. Ph.D. (Economics), associate professor, State Institution of Higher Education “Krivoy Rog National University”, Ukraine Annotation The article is aimed at enhancement of the uranium ore mining technology at underground mines of the state enterprise “VostGOK”. The investigation task con- sists in determining impacts of various factors on the crown stability when mining uranium ore deposits by vertical double blocks applying underground block leach- ing. In the course of the investigation there is used mathematical modelling of the stress-strain state of crowns applying the finite-element technique, analytical study of the degree of crown disturbance caused by mining and laboratory study of ura- nium ore strength under impacts of block leaching reagents. To cut costs for final products, vertical double blocks are suggested for under- ground mining of uranium ores by block leaching. There are determined impacts of deposit dips and workings on the stress-strain state of crowns. Correction of crown thickness is suggested taking into account the above factors and applying corresponding coefficients. There is also determined the degree of impact of acid solutions used in under- ground leaching on uranium ore strength depending on the exposing time. The determined dependencies enable correcting the crown thickness when min- ing uranium deposits by vertical double blocks applying the underground block leaching technology and therefore provides safety of works. 4 Introduction The state enterprise Vostochnyi Mining and Processing Works (SE “VostGOK”) is one of the world’s 28 uranium production cen- ters. It is the largest in Europe and the only one in Ukraine in mining uranium ore and concentrating natural uranium. The enterprise com- prises three underground mines: Ingulskaya, Smolinskaya and No- vokonstantinovskaya. The enterprise is among the first ten uranium producers (about 2% of the world’s production) supplying uranium raw materials to about 40% of national nuclear power stations. In Ukraine uranium deposits are mainly exploited in densely populated areas under various protected objects (water bodies, build- ings and facilities). To protect the environment from possible emis- sions of radioactive elements room mining is applied with subse- quent backfilling of the dead area with consolidating mixtures. This technology is cost intensive if the ore body morphology is complex and economically reasonable at deposits with the increased uranium content. For economic and environmental reasons, under- ground block leaching should be used for mining lean uranium- containing ores to exclude a number of labour-consuming and envi- ronmentally dangerous operations from the production process [1, 2]. This enables, on the one hand, reaching maximum values of mineral extraction and, on the other hand, avoiding considerable material expenditures on backfilling mixture preparation and backfilling dead rooms as, when applying underground block

The aim of this paper is to outline the history of sport in Volyn (the area of the Volhynian province in the period of the Second Polish Republic) in the years 1921–1939. The Volhynian province was established on 19 February 1921. As of April 1, 1939 its area covered 35,754 km2 and had a population of 2,085,600 people (as of 9 December 1931). The population of Polish nationality was 16,6 %, of Ukrainian nationality – 68,4 %, of Jewish nationality – 9,9 %, of German nationality – 2,3 %, of Czech nationality – 1,5 %, of Russian nationality – 1,1 %, the remaining nationalities – 0,2 %. Townspeople of the province represented only 13,3 % of the population. The province consisted of the following counties: Dubno, Horochów, Kostopil, Kovel, Kremenets, Liuboml, Lutsk, Rivne, Sarny, Volodymyr and Zdolbuniv. The county of Sarny (formerly included in Polesia province) became a part of the Volhynian province in December 1930. Methods and Research Problems. As part of preparation of this study the following research methods have been used: analysis of historical sources, the method of synthesis and comparison.

We found that the dominant species (65% of the area covered with forest vegetation) are pine. We made a distribution of pine plantations of Rivne region for the most common types of forest site conditions. We investigated that the largest share of pine plantations is in the fresh and wet subors. Separately, we conducted a study on distribution of pine plantations on trophotopes (dominated by subors and bors) and hihrotopes (dominated by wet and fresh habitat conditions).

He was born into a landowning family, did his military service in the tsarist army, and escaped from Bolshevik captivity. In independent Poland, he did not continue his military career but worked in the state administra- tion as an engineer responsible for road works. He continued his engineer’s work during the Polish-Bolshevik war. Later, he managed the quarries in Janowa Dolina in Volhynia and made them a model enterprise on a European scale. He paid the high- est price for his attitude to life. Until now many aspects of his activity have been un- known. Only the archive search in Ukraine made it possible to gain knowledge about views and details of his socio-political activity. The research employed a biographical 2020, nr 8 method based on the analysis of personal documents. The installation of Soviet power in Volhynia took place according to the classical scheme. On the seventeenth of September, Polish police and army formations along with the Polish families who actively participated in the social life of the village [8, p. 237–245]. The eastern USSR Soviet and party officials were to be the basis of the state apparatus of the newly annexed lands [4, p. 44–76]. The mayor of Rokytne Bratsky decided to cooperate voluntarily with the new government, namely taking the position of a civil servant in the municipal committee [8, p. 243–245]. Taras Bulba-Borovets, the owner of a stone quarry, worked as a lumber mill worker with the advent of Soviet power [11, p. 67–68]. A large proportion of the Jewish population took managerial and administrative positions in Rokytne village [3]. Kobzar, Senior lecturer, language advisor Zhytomyr State Technological University AMBER IN UKRAINE AND THE PROBLEM OF ITS EXTRACTION Is it really possible to legalize and put amber mining on the industrial flow of the state? To answer this question, first you need to understand how valuable the sunny stone is and what kind of problem exists with it in our country. Amber is a natural organic compound, dense and viscous (fossilized) fossil resin of coniferous trees in the form of dim, transparent and semitransparent stones. It is known to people for several thousand years. Amber became the subject of trading in the Neolithic (6 thousand years ago) and the Baltic amber was especially valued. People were able to colour amber and to make decorations of various shapes from it as early as in the Bronze Age. It was common among Egyptians, Romans and Greeks. Decorative amber goods (fig.1) were found in the Scythian burial mounds on the territory of Ukraine. According to Pliny, the Romans were able to paint amber in red and such amber was valued as gold. Humanity has valued the sphere of application of the sunny stone from ancient times. Amber is used for making jewelry, perfumery, in folk medicine and electricity. Secondary littoral coastal-marine deposits have the most industrial significance. Amber Succinate - Fossil Resin from Pine "Pinus Succinator" - covers several areas on the map of locations. Geologically, the Baltic Succinate is most widely used. The same semiprecious stone is also found on the territory of Ukraine (near Kiev, Kharkiv, in Volyn).
