Sun Ra und der Afrofuturismus spielen eine Rolle – das alles ist so souverän wie überzeugend. Dass »EarthEE« sich nicht um so etwas Simples wie einen Hit kümmert, weiß manch einer erst beim zehnten Durchlauf zu schätzen. Das Album ist so stimmig, weil kein Song heraus- sticht und die Grenzen verschwimmen. Alles fließt, schmeichelt sich ein – trotz des mitunter reingrätschenden Billig-Keyboards. Mit schnöder Wut, der aus der Grunge-Ära zum Beispiel, ködert »EarthEE« nicht. Natürlich sind THEESatisfaction gegen das Mackertum der Szene. Dass sie sich auf das Spiel gegenseitiger Übertrumpfung nicht einmal einlassen, lässt Punkkids aber doch nachdenklich werden.
