WEEKLY “NOTES & NUGGETS” FROM THE PRO FOOTBALL HALL OF FAME AND FOOTBALL EXHIBIT AT THE HALL; BROWNS ROOKIES VISIT; FROM THE ARCHIVES: 17 ROOKIE RUNNERS TO WIN NFL RUSHING TITLE

CANTON, OHIO – The following is a sampling of events, happenings and notes that highlight how the Pro Football Hall of Fame serves its important mission to “Honor the Heroes of the Game, Preserve its History, Promote its Values & Celebrate Excellence EVERYWHERE!”

BASEBALL AND FOOTBALL EXHIBIT ADDED TO THE HALL The Hall’s curatorial team created a new exhibit titled, “Baseball and Football, America’s Pastime and Passion” in the Pro Football Today Gallery. The exhibit features artifacts from individuals who have ties to both baseball and football.

Artifacts displayed are from several Hall of Famers including , and , as well as present stars including quarterbacks and .

Guests can enjoy the exhibit through the 2019 MLB All-Star Game in on Tuesday, July 9.

Photo: Football signed by Cal Hubbard when he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Sept. 7, 1963. Hubbard is the only person enshrined in both the National Baseball Hall of Fame and the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

BROWNS ROOKIES TOUR THE HALL Rookies from the visited the Hall of Fame on Tuesday. The players, during their tour, learned about the mission of the Hall and the history of pro football, specifically pro football in Cleveland. The players also enjoyed hands-on experiences about the history of pro football by trying on pads and helmets from early years of professional football. The players viewed the Hall’s two main theaters, The Super Bowl Theater and A Game for Life holographic theater.

FROM THE , JR. PRO FOOTBALL RESEARCH & PRESERVATION CENTER: The Ralph Wilson, Jr. Pro Football Research & Preservation Center is home to the world’s largest collection on football including a personal legacy archive on every player who has competed in the NFL since its founding in 1920. Contained inside the archives are more than 40 million pages of documents and six million photographic images.

Staff help a variety of patrons from fans, researchers, authors, and students as well as serving as a resource of information to the , its 32 clubs and members of the media.

Six Hall of Famers have started their NFL careers by leading the NFL in rushing including (1932), ALPHONSE “TUFFY” LEEMANS (1936), (1942), (1957), (1978) and (1983).
