1851 Census Glengairn and Glenmuick ED 1 From a point on the River Dee opposite to Deecastle, in a straight line to the River Tanner near Elnich, from thence along the north bank of said river Tanner to Corrynach and from thence to the bridge of Muick, then along the south bank of the Dee to Dee castle. The District is about 5 ½ miles long, 5 miles in breadth, is mountainous and the Houses are widely detached.

ED 4 This District is bounded on the Weast [sic] by the Parish of Crathie on the South by the Dee and on the North and East by the Gairn. Length from east to weast [sic] 6 miles. Breadth about 4 miles. The Inhabited parts lie along the North side of the Dee and Southweast[sic] side of the Gairn and are (except near the confluence of the Dee and the Gairn) separated by a range of hills or mountains the highest Point (Gailie) 2326 feet.

ED 5 From Bridge of Gairn to Sleach including both sides of the Gairn until it joins the Parish of Crathie, from said Bridge of Gairn in a line north to Glenfenzie and from thence along the west side of the water of Enzie until its junction with the Gairn, then up the North bank of the Gairn to said Bridge. This Distict is 6 miles long and 4 broad is mountainous in its upper part and intersected by the Gairn.

This District is 4 ½ miles long, and 3 miles broad, is very hilly and has the houses widely detached.
