WHO IS JOHNNY B. HAIR CARE? Johnny B. Hair Care is a men’s hair care brand with barbershop roots, founded in Los Angeles in 1994. Our products are only distributed through professional salons and barbershops across the continent. We believe that education is the key to success. We have established 2 programs for professionals to get involved with the brand.

JOHNNY B. GRAND PRIX The Grand Prix is an educational event that will allow you to become a brand advocate. Johnny B. Hair Care always welcomes brand advocates. A brand advocate works locally to promote brand awareness. Most of the time, they work hand in hand with our distributors and their customers. There are two key components to a great advocate - passion and skill. A pro advocate has great public-speaking skills as well. These individuals can be considered for entry-level ambassador positions after applying and being accepted to our barber academy.

JOHNNY B. BARBER ACADEMY Ambassadors are essential to the growth of our brand. We are looking for passionate and skilled individuals to join our team as brand ambassadors. As a Johnny B. brand ambassador, you will be very knowledgeable of our brand concepts, products and hair cutting methods. This will allow you to teach styling techniques, clipper-cutting classes and participate at events such as hair shows, as needed.

Attending the Johnny B. Barber Academy is the first step to becoming a Johnny B. brand ambassador. For more information on the Barber Academy, please refer to page 4 Johnny B. Barber Academy Information. For more information or for any questions, please email [email protected].

**This is a freelance position meaning that educators are informed of any upcoming in-salon classes in their area beforehand so that they can inform us of their availability. All Johnny B. ambassadors receive extensive training on the brand and the class curriculum. The Johnny B. Education Team is an elite group of educators who are very hard working, passionate, and humble—Perhaps you would be a perfect fit.

Johnny B. Barber Academy Information

Thank you for showing interest in Johnny B. Hair Care's Barber Academy! The August 2019 session of the Barber Academy will be held at our Los Angeles headquarters. The academy dates are August 20-23, 2019.

Attending the Barber Academy is the first step to becoming a Johnny B. brand ambassador. Regardless of the results, all participants will have an unmatched experience to learn more about the industry and build their professional network.

In order to maximize the learning experience, this event is limited to 8-10 attendees. Because there is such a strong interest in this event, we require potential invitees to participate in our video casting process. Please see Page 5 for Video Casting Instructions. Enrollment Period now Open! Be sure to submit your video to [email protected] once they have been completed.

There is a minimal cost of $999 to participate. **Does not include airfare to Los Angeles. This price includes the following:

Barber Academy Video Casting Instructions

Please upload a 5 minute YouTube video demonstrating a clipper cut using Johnny B. Hair Care products and tools.

Please be sure to include the following in your video:

1. Tell us where you are from, where you work and what motivates you to want to join the team?

2. Tell us your favorite Johnny B. products to cocktail together.

3. What is something that makes you stand out from other applicants?

4. Where do you see yourself in five years?

5. Imagine you are shrunk to the size of a coin and stuck in a blender. In 60 seconds, the blender will turn on. How would you get out?

Once you have completed the video, please upload the video to YouTube and email the link to Dulce at [email protected]. Your email has to include the following information:

• Name • Place of employment • Location (city, state, country) • Email address • Phone number • Social media information (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc.) • If you get selected, will you need your own hotel room (+$320)?

Frequently Asked Questions (F.A.Q’s)

1. What are the qualifications for attending the Johnny B. Grand Prix or Barber Academy? Can I attend if I am a licensed cosmetologist? Do you accept barber students?

In order to attend the Johnny B. Barber Academy or the Grand Prix, you must be a licensed barber or cosmetologist and be familiar with men’s cuts. And of course, be passionate about the brand!

2. If I’m based in Los Angeles, do I still need to pay the full fee? Can I opt not to stay at the hotel?

Yes, we require all attendees to stay at the hotel together as a team. The fee covers more than just the hotel. It covers Johnny B. products, cost of materials, all meals, fees for our presenters, etc. There’s a lot that goes into making this event successful!

3. Do you hold Grand Prix or Barber Academy events in other cities besides Los Angeles?

No, at this time, the Grand Prix and the Barber Academy are only held at our Los Angeles headquarters and we want you to get the full Johnny B. experience!

4. Is there a deadline to apply for the Grand Prix?

No, however, reservations are first come, first served and the event is limited to 10 attendees. A non-refundable deposit is required in order to reserve your spot.

5. Tell me more about what happens during the Grand Prix or the Barber Academy. Once you are invited to the appropriate event, we will send you a detailed itinerary.

6. I want to become an educator for the brand. What program is going to help me achieve that goal? The Barber Academy will give you the opportunity to work and grow as an ambassador within the brand. With the ambassador program, comes the opportunity to become an educator or platform artist for the brand.

7. How am I submitting my video? Once you have completed the video, please upload the video to YouTube and email the link to Dulce at [email protected]. Please be sure that your YouTube channel is public, otherwise, we will not be able to see it. Along with your video link, you will also be submitting your Barber Academy application with all the required information.
