The auditing and protection of this geodiversity is important to help preserve the landscape and the underlying geology. It is also important to help integrate the needs of the local population, education, recreation and science with quarrying and the National need for aggregate. This draft Action Plan sets out a framework of actions for auditing, recording and monitoring the geodiversity of the Dales and Craven lowlands.
