The Overall Record 3-11 Baysox came back from a 4-1 deficit to tie the game in the seventh inning on a Yusniel Diaz two-run single, but Home Record 1-6 Akron scored three runs in the eighth to take the game. This was the Baysox seventh loss in the last eight games. Road Record 2-5 Versus Eastern Division 0-0 Wells' Debut: LHP Alex Wells makes his AA debut for the Baysox today. Wells made 24 starts in High-A Frederick Versus Western Division 3-11 last year, going 7-8 with a 3.47 ERA. In 2017, Wells won the Jim Palmer Award, given to the best minor league Current Streak L4 pitcher in the Orioles organization. That year, he went 11-5 with a 2.38 ERA in 140 innings. The 22-year-old was Last Homestand 1-6 signed by the Orioles in 2015 out of Australia. Wells enters the 2019 season as the 27th ranked prospect in the Current Road Trip 0-1 Orioles system, according to MLB.com. Plesac enters this game When Scoring 4+ Runs 3-6 with a 1.42 ERA in 12.2 innings. In his last start on April 13, Plesac pitched 6.2 scoreless innings in Altoona, striking When Scoring 3- Runs 0-5 out four. Plesac split last season between Akron and Lynchburg and won 11 games while posting a 3.79 ERA. Outielder Ryan Baysox vs. Akron McKenna (#7) and Left-Handed Pitcher Zac Lowther (#8) also rank in the Orioles' top ten. Pitchers Hunter Harvey (#12), Dillon Tate (#18), Zach Pop (#20) and Infielder Rylan Bannon (#23) round out the top prospects that start 2019 Record: 0-1 the 2019 campaign with the Baysox. 4/18 at Akron L, 7-4 The Buck Starts Here: 2019 marks Buck Britton's first season as manager of the Bowie Baysox. Britton replaces 4/20 at Akron Gary Kendall, who was the head man in Bowie from 2011-2018. Britton picked up his first victory as a AA manager 4/20 at Akron on April 7 against the Harrisburg Senators. Last season, Britton managed the Delmarva Shorebirds, leading the 4/25 vs. Akron club to a 68-66 record. Prior to getting into coaching, Britton played nine seasons in Minor League Baseball, and 4/26 vs. Akron spent parts of 2009, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 with the Baysox. Buck is the brother of former Baysox and Orioles' 4/27 vs. Akron left-hander Zack Britton. 4/28 vs. Akron 5/13 at Akron This Day in Baysox History: Just like this year on April 20, on April 20, 2018, the Baysox took on the Akron 5/14 at Akron RubberDucks.
