2019 BOWIE BAYSOX GAME NOTES Sunday, April 14, 2019 - 1:35 p.m. Prince George's Stadium -- Bowie, MD Harrisburg Senators (9-1) vs. Bowie Baysox (2-7) LHP Ben Braymer (1-0, 3.60 ERA) vs. LHP Zac Lowther (1-0, 0.00 ERA) Game #10 // Home Game #4 2019 SEASON In Case You Missed It: The Baysox dropped a season-high fourth consecutive contest to Harrisburg yesterday. Overall Record 2-7 The Senators used three home runs to score eight runs in the third innings. Bowie's runs came on a Rylan Bannon Home Record 0-3 home run, Ademar Rifaela RBI double, T.J. Nichting RBI single and a Jesmuel Valentin fielder's choice. The final Road Record 2-4 score was 10-4. Versus Eastern Division 0-0 Versus Western Division 2-7 Say it Lowther: LHP Zac Lowther makes his second start of the year for the Baysox today. He pitched five scoreless Current Streak L4 innings in Harrisburg on 4/7 and earned the win. In 2018, Lowther started the year in Delmarva and posted a 1.16 Current Homestand 0-3 ERA in six starts. He was called-up to Frederick at the end of May and went 5-3 with a 2.53 ERA in 92.2 innings with Last Road Trip 2-4 the Keys. At the end of the season, Lowther was named the Co-Jim Palmer Award Winner, given to the best minor league pitcher in the Orioles organization. Lowther shared the honor with Baysox LHP Keegan Akin, who was Last 5 Games 1-4 the Eastern League Pitcher of the Year. The Senators took the Day Games 1-3 opening series of the season from the Baysox, winning three of the four contests. On Opening Day, Harrisburg hit Night Games 1-4 two home runs en route to an 8-4 victory. Britton replaces Gary Kendall, who was the head man in Bowie from 2011-2018. Britton picked up his first victory as a AA manager on Baysox vs. Harrisburg April 7 against the Harrisburg Senators. Last season, Britton managed the Delmarva Shorebirds, leading the club 2019 Record: 1-4 to a 68-66 record. Prior to getting into coaching, Britton played nine seasons in Minor League Baseball, and spent parts of 2009, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 with the Baysox. Babe’s 60 home run season bat returns to public display along with his 1914 Orioles’ rookie card, his catholic rosary that he carried to his death in 1948, and the original marriage certificate from his wedding to Helen Kids, look at the Kids Corner on Woodford in Ellicott City, Maryland.     Lacrosse park part of Prince George’s County tourism push Premium content from Washington Business Journal by Missy Frederick, Staff Reporter Date: Friday, August 3, 2012, 6:00 am EDT Lacrosse may not seem the most likely of tourism drivers, but officials in Prince George’s County are hoping that a new field and stadium devoted to the sport could draw additional business to the county’s restaurants, hotels and other sporting destinations — if it gets built. The Maryland Stadium Authority and the Chesapeake Bayhawks, the area’s major league lacrosse team, are close to completing a feasibility and economic impact for a stadium at Bowie’s Green Branch Park. The $40,000 study, being conducted by Crossroads Consulting Inc., will examine whether there is a big enough market for lacrosse to justify the facility. The study will look at various sizes and layout configurations for the stadium and fields, and examine what other athletic events could be housed within the facility, said Gary McGuigan, project executive for the Maryland Stadium Authority. Cost estimates for construction aren’t part of the study. “It’s really just trying to find whether there is a market there,” McGuigan said. Maryland State Sen. Doug Peters, D-Dist. 23, believes there is. Peters initiated the study after being approached by the Bayhawks about three years ago to help find a site for a stadium. The General Assembly has also put aside $1 million, which the state’s parks and planning department has matched, to produce renderings of potential stadium designs if the study says the proposal makes sense, Peters said.
