The construction work was commenced in June 2017. It will be completed in the autumn of 2018. It will be a multipurpose port area and will also have terminal facilities for turnaround operations.

The port will be able to service all sizes of cruise ships.

The new port area will have a 500 meter long quay with a water depth of 15 meters. Enough to accommodate the largest of cruise ships and easy navigational access to the quay. It will be equipped with terminals to handle turn-around operations.

The cruise pier will strengthen the position of Kalundborg as a cruise destination. Cruises are to become an important and integrated part of the city’s business and culture, and will contribute to the development of new attractive commercial and recreational environments in Kalundborg.
