(That’s no foolin’!) • Tickets for the Annual Club “Spring Fling” on Friday, May 4th are on sale now from Nancy Paul or Laura Hager-Club Co-Treasurers or Pauline Carr-Senior Center Director. Last day to purchase tickets is on Monday, April 23rd. • “Spring Painting Class” on Tuesday, April 10th Pre-register by April 5th. • Deadline to Register for Toledo Mud Hens Game - Thursday, April 19th. • Township Animal Clinic Saturday, April 21st. • May 2018 Newsletter deadline is Monday, April 23rd • Annual Club “Spring Fling” Dinner and Music Friday, May 4th. Doors open 3:30 pm. Annual Huron Township Pet Clinic, Saturday, April 21, 2018, 12:00 noon - 2:00 pm at Fire Station # 1, 19555 Sterling Street. Dr. Cynthia Essig, from Willowood Acres Veterinary Clinic, will be on site to administer vaccinations for both dogs and cats including Rabies vaccine. A Township representative will also be there so Residents can buy an Annual Dog License for $10.00. Please note on May 1st, 2018, the Dog License fee will be $20.00. (A Rabies Vaccination is charged separately from a Dog License.) See flyer for more details. YARD WASTE will be collected from the first full week of April through the last full week of November. Call Waste Management with any questions at 1-866-797-9018. The Huron Township Senior Citizens CPR Class on March 16th was well attended with 32 community residents in attendance: 21 senior citizens, 4 adults, & 7 students. 10 received certification. Thank you to Lt. Webb for the great presentation, Lt. Novicki and Fireman Schmader for assisting, and Chief Robins & Chief Hinojosa for making it happen! March’s Mystery Lunch to “Aubree’s Pizzeria and Grill” on Whittaker Road in Ypsilanti, MI, was well liked! Their friendly staff and casual atmosphere with buffet Pizza bar with soup, salad, desserts, & bread sticks was enjoyed by all. Join us for April’s Mystery Lunch on 4/27 by signing- up at the back table. Restaurant suggestions always welcome! Huron Township Krzyske Senior Center has a lot to offer! Come join in the fun! MONDAYS: “Get Moving” Exercise 10:30 am, “Billiards” 11:30 am, Pinochle 12:30 pm TUESDAYS: 1st Tues. of month Huron Township Senior Citizens Club Mtg 12:30 pm followed by Casino trip, 2nd Tues. Wii Bowling 10 am, 3rd Tues. Potluck 4 pm; THURSDAYS: “Corn Hole Toss” Exercise 10:30 am (in new Multi-Purpose Facility), 11:30 Billiards am, Euchre 12:30 pm, and Dominoes 12:30 pm. FRIDAYS: 2nd Fri. If you have an e-mail address and would like to be added, please give to Pauline Carr or e-mail her at [email protected] Please report Wayne County Potholes to Wayne County Department of Public Safety at 1-888- ROAD-CREW (1-888-7623-2739) If you are 50 or older and would like to join the Huron Township Senior Citizens Club please: Fill in a “HTSCC Membership Application” form available in the HCT Krzyske Senior Center with Annual Dues of $7.00 per person 50-84 years old to Membership Chair - Laura Hager, or Center Director - Pauline Carr. Those 85 & older are Honorary members and are FREE but must complete the “Membership Application” form. HTSC Club Membership includes priority on trips, reduced price of recreational activities & annual parties, etc. PEOPLE IN THE NEWS Mary Dilks enjoyed a weekend away to Minneapolis to celebrate her grandson’s, granddaughter-in-law’s & great-grandson’s birthdays. What a nice way to celebrate by having family all come together. So glad you were able to go and enjoy it, Mary! Stan Paluch had a nice time visiting family in different areas of Florida. Glad you had a nice time away, Stan! We’ve missed seeing you shoot pool and call the raffles! Nancy & David Paul are back from their Florida get away. Welcome back & thanks for bringing warm weather back! We’re looking forward to seeing you at pinochle! Bob Novicki had a double run in pinochle. That’s a rarity! Congratulations, Bob! Pauline & Delmar Carr, Jr’s son, Delmar III, passed his BSA Eagle Scout Board of Review and earned Eagle Scout rank on Jan. 9th. His ES Court of Honor was on Feb. 25th with 75 guests in attendance. Thank you to everyone who helped him earn it! Special birthday wishes are being sent to Andrew Nagy who’s hitting the big 8-0 on the 18th, Marian Schiller who’ll be 98 on 21st, & Jean Langford who’ll be 93 on 26th. Mary Dolencic recently broke her leg - prayers for a speedy recovery, Mary! We send continued get well wishes and prayers to Faye Bird, Judith Cvetezar, Armand Gravina, Shirley Lukomski, and Ken Brown.
