“RAINSHADOW” OUT OCTOBER 2nd

MOVIE CLUB’S 2nd SINGLE OFF DEBUT LP “BLACK FLAMINGO”

In a time when words often fail us, there is Movie Club: The instrumental rock band that expresses a range of raw emotions without need for lyrics. The Venice Beach duo brings special guests and good friends Rami Jaffee (keys, ) and Jessy Greene (violin, P!NK) into the mix for “Rainshadow.” Their second single will be released exactly two years after the band played their first show alongside Jaffee and Greene at the infamous Pre-Cal Jam party at Fonogenic Studios. Legendary Venice guitarist Robby Krieger (The Doors) headlined the stage later that evening and BBQed in the parking lot throughout the night. It all came full circle when the band mixed their first full-length record at Fonogenic this spring.

“Rainshadow” is a bittersweet ballad in the vein of “Maggot Brain” meets Explosions in the Sky. The track also features a satin bass line by Tim Lefebvre (Bowie, Black Crowes). “Rainshadow” is an intricately-laced conversation of legendary live musicians singing with their instruments, singing for the sadness of not being on the road for an indefinite time, singing to the veiled face of an uncertain future. A psychedelic journey intended to lift souls weary from the wear and tear of 2020.

This is the 2nd single off Movie Club’s 13-track album Black Flamingo which drops November 27th, 2020. The band is doing a limited run of vinyl and the pre-sale link (www.movieclubtheband.com/merch) will go live October 2nd along with the release of “Rainshadow.” LISTEN NOW
