Manufactured by Thin client computing is the modern-day version of mainframe computing. Applications and data are hosted on a central server. This centralized hosting of data and applications provides greater efficiency (with everyone using the same data) and security with virus protection and upgrades handled on the central server. Thin client computing permits local printing, audio and serial device support. Thin Clients from Vecmar can emulate almost any operating system and are available in basic, robust or flexible styles for web browsing and combined local and network computing. Benefits of Thin Client Computing Thin Clients cost much less than desktop PCs. There is little or no need for software upgrades, installation or hardware repair. IT managers can perform updates and virus protection remotely, resulting in less on site support. End user errors are fewer, and unwanted applications are eliminated. This combination of benefits results in a much more economical total cost of ownership, as well as a more efficient network with less down time. Familiar Interface and Higher Performance The thin client environment consists of a centralized server for data storage and thin client terminals equipped with the graphical Thin Client interface familiar to PC users. Combined with today’s high speed networks Operating Systems and powerful servers, thin clients perform as well or faster in running the Vecmar Thin Clients manufactured by Wyse same applications that were previously run locally on a desktop PC.
