The Robert Owen Memorial Museum was opened in 1929 on the site of the birthplace of Robert Owen in Newtown. It contains a considerable collection of books, documents and other items relating to Robert Owen and Newtown. (A collection of some 3,000 items of Robert Owen's correspondence is in the Library of the Co-operative Union, Ltd., Holyoake House, Hanover Street, M60 OAS).

This list of the contents of the Museum was prepared for the Trustees by C.J. Williams of the Clwyd Record Office, Hawarden.
