Shri Jayaprakash A Gandhi and Shri Suresh Punjabi – the doyens in the field of education were the Chief Guests. Our Founder Chairman Vidya Ratna Shri R S Munirathinam presided over the function. Principal Dr E B Perumal Pillai rendered Welcome Address, Vice Principal Dr S Bhagavathi Perumal introduced the guests. Shri R M Kishore, Vice Chairman, Dr M S Palanichamy Advisor, Shri T N Ramanathan Advisor, and Dr R Patturaj, Prof & Head (S&H), felicitated on the occasion. The Volume V Issue II of the College Biannual News Letter Dazzler June 13 was released by the Founder Chairman. A few +2 toppers who have joined our college are being given book bags and study materials by the Founder Chairman and Guests A few parents give their feedback 6 Dr K A Selvakumaran, Professor of Mathematics proposes the Vote of Thanks II ALUMNI MEET: Second Alumni Meet was held on 24-11-13 at Hotel Jaya Pushpam Chennai. It was attended by distinguished guests & alumini. Various events were conducted. Department wise Best project awards were given to the alumni. The award was given by British Deputy High Commission - Chennai, Robert Gordon University and Aberdeen University of Bradford on 07.10.2013 in the august presence of Education Minister of the State, Honourable P. Palaniappan and the Principal of the college. YRC BLOOD DONATION CAMP: The Youth Red Cross Unit of RMKCET conducted a Blood Donation Camp on 05.10.2013 in the campus in coordination with M/S Right Hospitals, Research Institute For General Plastic, Hand & Trauma Kilpauk, Chennai. More than a hundred and fifty students donated blood enthusiastically. The following clippings exhibit the social responsibility of our students. 12 REFRESHER PROGRAMME A Refresher Course has been organized at the Seminar Hall in the Main Block of RMKCET during 17th and 18th December 2013. Principal, Vice Principal, All the Heads of Departments, Professors of various Departments, Coordinators of various portfolios and the Administrative Officer of the college gave Special Lectures for the benefit of all the faculty members. ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT CELL In the present scenario, getting employment is highly competitive and challenging. For a few vacancies thousands of candidates are in the fray. This could be overcome by becoming an entrepreneur. In this regard, R.M.K. College of Engineering and Technology has organized a One Day Awareness Programme for the final and pre-final year Engineering students on 13.09.2013. Dr. R. Jayaraman, Member Secretary, Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (Tamil Nadu) was the Chief Guest of the occasion. He interacted with the students of the college. On Case Studies on Rehabilitation Works, in the Training programme on Repair and Rehabilitation of Structures, sponsored by Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board, organized by the Building Technology Centre, Anna University, Chennai on 27.11. 2013 for the Engineers of Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board. The Inauguration of CSI Student Chapter was organized on 01.10.2013 at RMKCET, Puduvoyal in the presence of the chief guest Mr.S.Ramasamy, Consultant- CSI. 16 A national workshop on Mobile Android OS & its Applications (MAOS’13) was conducted on 09.12.2013 in association with CSI. The key speakers in the workshop were Mr.B.Ranjith, Asso.Prof, TifacCore, Ms.P.Mehta, System Engineer, TCS Bangalore and Mr.Srikanth, IT Analyst, TCS Bangalore.
