CARTOON NETWORK STRIKES LICENSING DEAL WITH EPIC STORY INTERACTIVE FOR BEN 10 HEROES MOBILE GAME Match-3 Puzzle Battle App Slated to Make Global Debut Summer 2019 Cartoon Network has entered into a licensing agreement with Vancouver’s Epic Story Interactive Inc. to develop the BEN 10 HEROES mobile game, giving Ben 10 fans yet another way to enjoy and interact with Ben and their favorite aliens. Slated to debut globally in mid-June, with an initial rollout in Australia & Philippines and a U.S. launch expected for May 15, BEN 10 HEROES is a fast-paced match-3 puzzle battle game for iOS and Android. Based on the Cartoon Network hit action TV series, Ben 10, the game follows the adventures of Ben Tennyson as he uses the alien powers of the Omnitrix to save the Earth from the world’s greatest villains. Cartoon Network’s animated series Ben 10 is currently in its third season, with a season four greenlight announced in January and expected to premiere globally in 2020. Season four will follow Ben, his cousin Gwen and Grandpa Max as they venture to some of the world’s most popular destinations including Italy, Japan and Mexico. Season four will continue to empower its worldwide fanbase through new alien transformations, action-packed battles with villains and more. Ben will also discover a special key that upgrades his beloved Omnitrix to add “Omni-Kix” armor enhancements to his aliens so he can power up during the action.     Research Paper TITLE: “Effects of Ben 10 on kids in the age- group 5 to 8 years.” Mrs. Devendar Sandhu Publication Date: 12/07/2014 Educational Technology Research Paper ii Abstract “The problem with our society is that our values aren‟t in the right place. There‟s an awful lot of bleeding and naked bodies on prime-time networks, but not nearly enough cable television on public programming.” ― Bauvard, Evergreens Are Prudish Technology has expanded the availability of information through various routes, such as, television, music, movies, internet and magazines. These routes avail children to endless learning venues about any issue that might be of interest to them. Television is a common media mode which is available to most Indian houses. As per the Turnaround Management Association „s TAM Annual Universe Update - 2010, India now has over 134 million households (out of 223 million) with television sets, of which over 103 million have access to Cable TV or Satellite TV. Kids are exposed to TV at a very young age and they view TV actively or passively without any filtrations, one program after the other. Unless parents are empowered with expert information, they are ill-equipped to judge which programs to place off-limits for their kids. This retrospective descriptive study explores whether kids and their parents felt the side effects of viewing Ben 10. The sample population of 30 kids in the age – group 5 to 8 years old and their parents participated in the research. Factors examined in the study were psychological effects, health effects, TV contents rating views, etc.

Moore: Future Visions: Queer Utopia in Steven Universe Since it premiered on Cartoon Network in 2013, Steven Universe has garnered both ​ ​ praise and criticism for its portrayal of queer characters and its flexible approach to gender. Created by Rebecca Sugar, a bisexual and nonbinary artist, the show tells the story of Steven, a half-human, half-alien teenager raised by a trio of alien parental figures called the Crystal Gems. Steven’s adventures range from helping his friends at the local donut shop to defending Earth from the colonizing forces of the Gem Homeworld. Across its five seasons, this series has celebrated many queer firsts for animated children’s content. In 2018, Steven Universe aired one ​ ​ of the first cartoon same-sex wedding scenes (“Reunited”), and in 2019, it became the first animated show to win a Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) award, taking home the prize for Outstanding Kids and Family Programming.
