The Club will adhere to and enforce all CFL Media Policies in addition to the media policies of the Club that are outlined below. The Communications Department asks that all interviews, whether by phone or in person, be approved by a member of the department – one of Graeme Ivory or Chris Hofley. The Club respectfully asks media to not contact players, coaches, management or ownership without prior consent. Please note that due to partnership agreements, broadcast rights holders will receive priority when reviewing media requests. The Ottawa REDBLACKS reserve the right to enforce the following guidelines by way of revoking credentials or limiting access to TD Place. CREDENTIAL REQUESTS For all media credential requests – single game or full season – please complete the online form (click here) or contact Graeme Ivory. Accreditation for REDBLACKS games will be issued to all major local media outlets and rights holders prior to the start of the season. Media who have not received season passes can apply on a game-to-game basis by completing the online form or contacting a member of the communications staff. Credential requests must be submitted at least 48 hours prior to game day. Accreditation requests will not be MEDIA INFO accepted on game day. All credentials are issued to specific individuals and are not transferable. Credentials are to be used for the purpose for which they are issued, with no exceptions. Failure to comply with the media policies of the Canadian Football League (CFL) and the Ottawa REDBLACKS will result in ejection from TD Place and a ban on future access to REDBLACKS home games. Single game media credentials can be picked up on game day at the West Admin Office entrance (located down the stairs from Gate 1) up to 2.5 hours prior to kickoff or at the Security Entrance (located down the stairs from the West Admin OTTAWA REDBLACKS OTTAWA Office entrance) earlier in the day. Season Pass pick-up can also be made at this location or by request to the communications staff. Media should wear their credentials at all times while in the stadium (for both practices and games) and ensure that they are visible. 5 MEDIA INFO GAME DAY STADIUM ACCESS Media can access TD Place on game days through the security entrance (prior to gates opening) or via Gate 1. Gates open one-hour prior to kick-off. Media are asked to confirm their attendance 48 hours prior to each game to secure their seat, meal and parking (for those that apply). PRESS BOX The Press Box is located on Level 4 on the south side of the stadium accessible to media via the elevator at midfield (field level or concourse level). Game notes, rosters, depth charts, line-ups and media guides will be available inside the press box and the photographers work room (field level) and are also available online. Half-time statistics are distributed early in the third quarter while final statistics are distributed approximately 20 minutes following a game. In additional to copies in the press box and photographers work room, the final statistics package will be delivered to post-game media scrum and/or locker room during availability. The Press Box is for working members of the media only and seating is limited. Cheering and derogatory language whether to a staff member or in conversation will not be allowed. PHOTOGRAPHERS WORK ROOM The Photographers Work Room is located on located on Field Level on the south side of the stadium at midfield.The room opens two hours prior to kick-off and is for the sole use of staff and accredited photographers. FIELD/SIDELINE ACCESS Pre-Game: No sideline (team benches) access will be granted to any member of the media with the exception of the host broadcasters and rights holders. Pre- game interviews with players, coaches and management are not permitted without the consent of the Communications Department. MEDIA INFO In-Game: Media granted field access in-game shall remain in either end zone or the north side sidelines behind the A-frame and LED signage at all times. Only host broadcasters and rights holders are permitted on the south sidelines (team bench area) but must remain between the benches and never inside the bench area of either the home or away team. Field/Sideline Access: Field/Sideline access is for working members of the media only. Only credentialed media are permitted in these zones. LOCKER ROOM LOCATIONS Home and visiting team locker rooms located on Field Level on the south side of the stadium. The REDBLACKS locker room located in south east corner, visitors in south west. INJURY UPDATES – IN GAME The REDBLACKS will offer injury updates as available. Broadcasters on field level are asked not to approach the team’s medical staff, coaches or players regarding any injuries at any time. Please note that players who are injured in a game may not OTTAWA REDBLACKS OTTAWA be available to media immediately following the game. 6 MEDIA INFO MEDIA AVAILABILITY Pre-Game: Pre-game interviews with players, coaches and management are not permitted without the consent of the Communications Department and will mainly be granted to broadcast rights holders. Halftime: Only broadcast rights holders will have access to players/coaches at halftime with request to the Communications Department. Interviews would need to take place immediately following halftime or prior to the start of the third quarter. Post-Game (On-Field): Players will be available on-field for five minutes immediately following the game. Media must request the players to a member of the Communications Department. Press Conference/Post-Game Scrum: Head coach Rick Campbell will address the media at a post-game press conference or post-game scrum approximately 10 minutes following the game in the Media Room (located on Field Level on the south side at midfield) if there's a press conference or outside the REDBLACKS locker room for a post-game scrum. Locker Room: The REDBLACKS locker room will open to media immediately following head coach Rick Campbell’s press conference/post-game scrum (approximately 15-20 minutes post-game). Media wishing to speak with visiting team staff or players post-game must contact their Communications Director. Post-game media events are for accredited media only. MEDIA INFO OTTAWA REDBLACKS OTTAWA 7 MEDIA INFO PRACTICE DAYS All Ottawa REDBLACKS practices are open to the media and the public, unless specifically stated otherwise by the club. A member of the REDBLACKS communications staff will attend each practice and assist the media with any questions or concerns. The weekly practice schedule is typically released on Monday each week. To join the REDBLACKS media mailing list, email Graeme Ivory at [email protected] STADIUM ACCESS Media are asked to enter the stadium via the security entrance (parking level or down both flights of stairs at Gate 1). Once there proceed into the building, down the hallway towards the arena and up the stairs out on to the field.
