ELECTRIC 60-INCH WINGSPAN NEUPORT 17 INSTRUCTION MANUAL Entire contents Copyright 2014 Maxford USA Congratulations on your purchase of Maxford USA’s scale WWI Nieuport 17 ! It had outstanding maneuverability, and an excellent rate of climb. Initially, the Nieuport 17 retained the above wing mounted Lewis gun of the "11", but in French service this was soon replaced by a synchronized Vickers gun. In the Royal Flying Corps, the wing mounted Lewis was usually retained, by now on the improved Foster mounting, a curved metal rail which allowed the pilot to bring the gun down in order to change drums or clear jams. A few individual aircraft were fitted with both guns - but in practice this reduced performance unacceptably, and a single machine gun remained standard. The type reached the French front in March 1916, and quickly began to replace the smaller Nieuport 11 and 16 in French service. The type went into service with Escadrille N.57 on May 2, 1916. With the British DH.2 the Nieuports were responsible for ending the reign of the Fokker Eindecker - the so-called 'Fokker scourge' period, proving a severe shock to German aviation high command. -

However, during 2010 we will be bringing forward some exciting new developments both in the form of our web site and a modest expansion in our range of 1/300 scale vehicles. For those wargamers who have in the past purchased their Heroics and Ros models along with their Navwar 1/300 ships, and Naismith and Roundway 15mm figures, these ranges are of course still available direct from Navwar www.navwar.co.uk as before, though they will no longer be carrying the Heroics range. -

Serving the Church in Central and Southern Indiana Since 1960 CriterionOnline.com June 3, 2016 Vol. LVI, No. 34 75¢ Ignore the Church schedule and serve the people, pope Ready to serve God’s people 2016 ORDINATIONS tells deacons (Editor’s note: At 10 a.m. on June 25, six men are scheduled to be ordained priests at SS. A servant “is not a slave to his own agenda,” but rather always is prepared for the unexpected and responds, even if that means ignoring the parish schedule, Pope Francis the pope said on May 29 at a Mass for the Jubilee of Deacons in St. Peter’s Square. “It pains my heart when I see a schedule in the parishes—‘from this time to that time’—and then, the door is closed. There is no priest, no deacon, no layperson to welcome the people. This is wrong. Have the courage to ignore the schedule,” he said. Thousands of deacons and their families, braving the increasingly hot and humid Rome weather, attended the final Mass of the three-day Holy Year of Mercy celebration dedicated to the diaconal ministry. -

The 50th (Northumbrian) Infantry Division was a Territorial GAZALA Division from the north of England, mostly coal miners At the end of May 1942, Rommel’s Afrikakorps drove south and workers from the foundries and mills of Durham and through the desert around the Gazala line smashing much Yorkshire. Rommel struck back with everything German 7th Panzer Division under General Rommel at he had, desperately trying to break back through 150 Brigade Arras. Although ultimately unsuccessful, the attack bought and open his supply line. -
