Electronic Arts (NASDAQ:ERTS) and Digital Illusions today announced that 2 new Booster Packs will be released for the award- winning Battlefield 2™ PC game. The two packs, which will each retail for $9.99 in North America, EUR 9.99 in Europe and GBP 5.99 in the UK, will be available exclusively online at www.downloader.ea.com. Powered by the Battlefield 2 game engine, Battlefield 2: Euro Force™, releasing Feb. 8th, will introduce the all-new European Army to three brand new maps. Battlefield 2: Armored Fury™, releasing March 28th, will focus on large mechanized battles in the American heartland. In Battlefield 2: Euro Force, the European Army joins the Battlefield fray for the first time on PC. Complete with seven new weapons and four new vehicles, the European Army will be sent into battle against MEC and Chinese forces on three brand new maps. "Operation Smoke Screen" takes place amidst the burning wreckage of an oil field on fire. "The Great Wall of China" will see Chinese Forces attempting to repel a European attack in the shadow of the ancient landmark. "Taraba Quarry" takes place in a large canyon which holds a vital tactical advantage. Battlefield 2: Armored Fury will add three new maps, all set in the rural heartland of America where the US forces defend their homeland from Chinese and MEC forces. This Booster Pack will also introduce two new vehicle classes: Attack Jets with the ability to use rocket pods and cluster bombs, and agile Scout Choppers which will reveal nearby enemies. "Midnight Sun" takes place on the Alaskan border, where Chinese forces make landfall. "Operation Harvest" will take the player to the vast open plains of Pennsylvania where only the expert use of air and armor will assure victory. "Operation Road Rage" sees all-out tank warfare on the freeways of America.     BF2Hub Systems (www.bf2hub.com) RULES OF ENGAGEMENT (ROE) Last update March 2015 RANKED SERVERS - AN OVERVIEW The ranked server program and ranking system for Battlefield 2 was introduced by DICE and EA and is continued by BF2Hub. It is designed to promote a system of statistics gathering and rewards for players on a level playing field in which players can expect the same standard configuration and playing environment on any ranked server they play on. These standards are achieved and maintained by ensuring that all server providers and server administrators are abiding by a common set of rules as determined by BF2Hub. 1. RULES AND POLICIES FOR TRUSTED PARTNERS / SERVER HOST PROVIDERS BF2Hub is limiting trusted server software distribution to our network of Trusted Partners in order to protect the integrity of the code system. We want everyone to be able to play Ranked Servers if they choose. It is imperative that all of these Rules and Policies be adhered to in order to create a level playing field for everyone. 1.1 Server Configuration 1.1.1 Ranked Servers have a number of settings hard-coded so that users cannot adjust them. In Arcadia: Landscape filming in a toxic wasteland Game engine affordances and post-game narratives Abstract This paper discusses the production of artists work using existing videogame engines. It considers transgressive negotiations and engagements within the simulated gameworld that differ from the usual type of engagements that affect a nominal gamer. It considers the affordances that a game engine has in effecting creative practice and how these affordances can be discussed as post-game narratives. It uses anecdotal descriptions of these negotiations as a review of practice, whilst producing video grabs from within 'S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl'. This was towards a collaborative artwork with audio artist Angus Carlyle. It later describes the nature of post-game narratives as documents of intentioned performative activity and practice and as an engaging method for reflection on such practice.

In videogames play takes place in an artificially constructed environment – in gamespace. Gameplay occurs in gamespace. To understand videogames, it is essential to understand how their spaces are implicated in play. This thesis asks what are the relationships between play and space in videogames? This thesis examines the relationships between space and play by looking at how architecture is constructed in gamespace and by looking at gamespace as an architectonic construct. In short, this thesis examines the architecture in and of gamespace. The relationships between space and play in videogames are examined by looking at the structure of gamespace, by looking at the differences between real space and gamespace and by analysing architectural and spatial functionality. This thesis discovers a series of important relationships between space and play, arguing that gamespace is used to create, manipulate and control gameplay, while gameplay dictates and influences the construction of gamespace. Particular forms of play call for particular constructions of gamespace. Particular types of gamespace construct play in particular ways. This thesis identifies a number of ways in which gamespace is configured for play.
