OSJMUN Special Committee Issue : Marvel Universe vs Dc Universe !1 Forum: Special Committee Issue: Marvel vs Dc Student Officer: Teoman Yonar Thanos -a villian whose aim was to balance the universe by erasing half of it- was able to collect and equip all six of the Infinity Stones (Space, Time, Reality, Mind, Soul, Power) and he reached the ultimate power he was craving for. He used the power of the Infinity Stones to reach his goal of balancing the universe. However, The Avengers were not willing to let him do it. They defeated Thanos, but before Iron Man took his life, he had managed to flee to another dimension by using the powers of Infinity Stones. That’s how it all started… Thanos was in Metropolis, the home of Superman and Thanos’ surprise visit made Superman furious. Superman took Thanos as a prisoner but the Avengers were in search of Thanos . Therefore, they used a portal created by Doctor Strange to transport themselves to Metropolis only to see Thanos who had already been captured by Superman. So they wanted to take Thanos to their own universe, but Superman did not want to give him back. Both sides wanted to terminate the problem and decide Thanos’ fate by forming a committee. CHARACTERS: Team Avengers -Iron Man: When billionaire industrialist Tony Stark wears his steel- mesh armor, he becomes a living high-tech weapon - the world's greatest fighting machine. He is the Armored Avenger -generated by a machine heart. He wears modular arc reactor-powered Iron Man armor, granting superhuman strength and durability, the ability to fly and project Repulsor blasts which is also outfitted with complex tech, including a cutting-edge artificial intelligence, sensor systems and other gadgets. He is a genius-level intellect, with particular aptitude in invention and engineering. -Captain America: During WWII, the patriotic Steve Rogers was offered a place in the military's top operation. Injected with an experimental super-serum, Rogers emerged from the treatment with heightened endurance, strength, and reaction time. With extensive training and an indestructible Vibranium shield, Rogers soon became the country's ultimate weapon. He was in ice during a climactic battle towards the end of the war. Rogers was discovered and revived decades later. Now the living legend continues the war against evil in modern times as a member of The Avengers. His powers and abilities are at high level. He has physical condition with heightened strength and he is a skilled military leader and equipped with virtually indestructible Vibranium shield. -Thor: Thor's strength, endurance are greater than his Asgardian brothers. The mighty Thor is given an enchanted Uru hammer, Mjolnir, and he is a master of thunder and lightning. Thor's powers and abilities are superhuman strength, speed, endurance and resistance to injury. -Hulk: A massive dose of gamma radiation transformed the brilliant but humble scientist Bruce Banner's DNA, awakening the hidden, adrenaline-fed hero in his genes. A hero of few words and incredible strength, the Hulk has long been pursued by those who want to use his enormous power for their own purposes, or by those who think the Jade Giant's anger is too dangerous to be controlled. Hulk's powers and abilities which are incredible superhuman strength, durability, and healing factor; become more powerful as anger increases. Banner possesses a genius-level intellect and is an expert in multiple scientific fields, particularly in the studies of physics & radiation. -Black Panther: Monarch of the secluded but technologically advanced African nation of Wakanda, King TChalla is the Black Panther; a sacred title that must be both inherited and gained by the current Wakandan ruler. Having been granted superhuman powers by consuming a mystical heart-shaped herb, the Black Panther is responsible for defending his people and the world from any threats. Black Panther's powers and abilities are heightened strength, speed, stamina and reflexes; master of martial arts, acrobatics and hand-held weaponry. His powers and abilities utilize highly advanced Wakandan technology, including energy daggers, vibranium body armor and stealth aircraft; genius-level intellect, with expertise in physics & invention. -Black Widow: Natasha Romanoff is the spy known as the Black Widow. Trained extensively in the art of espionage, Black Widow's combat skills are virtually unmatched. Being one of S.H.I.E.L.D's most valuable agents, she has carried out numerous black-ops missions and has recently been assigned by Director Nick Fury to keep an eye on the Avengers. Black Widow's powers and abilities: Being master in the covert arts of espionage, infiltration and subterfuge; expert martial artist, with exceptional ability and athletic ability; she utilizes advanced weaponry including custom stun batons and "Widow's Bite" bracelets capable of stunning enemies with electrical discharges. -Hawkeye: Being an archer with perfect accuracy, Clint Barton's wit is usually faster than his lightning-quick reflexes! Though this expert archer doesn't always follow the rules, he proved himself an invaluable member of The Avengers as Hawkeye long ago! -Spiderman: The bite from a radioactive spider granted Peter Parker amazing arachnid-like powers. After losing his beloved Uncle Ben, grief- stricken Peter vowed to use his incredible abilities to protect his city as the Amazing Spider-Man. Peter’s trials taught him an invaluable lesson: with great power, there must also come great responsibility. Spider-Man's powers and abilities: He has superhuman strength, agility, endurance, ability to stick to and climb walls and other surfaces and he uses self-designed web-shooters allowing him to fire and swing from sticky webs. -Scarlet Witch: Notably powerful, Wanda Maximoff has fought both against and with the Avengers, attempting to improve her abilities and do what she believes is right to help the world. -Captain Marvel: Carol is guided by a strong sense of duty and honor. Carol brings the heroes together as an official team and ensures they're prepared for the challenges ahead. TEAM DC -Superman: Superman has everything; strength, speed, flight, invulnerability as well as his renowned X-ray and heat vision. Being the most powerful being on the planet, his amazing abilities are also a melancholic reminder of how different he is from the people he’s dedicated to protect. Superman means different things to many diverse people he inspires: He’s an alien; an immigrant from a faraway land just looking to help; a country boy fighting the never-ending battle for truth and justice. And recent comics have truly spotlighted his role as the people’s hero. -Batman: Millionaire Bruce Wayne was just a kid when he watched his parents get gunned down during a mugging in Gotham City. The crime would define his life, as he dedicated himself to become the world’s greatest weapon against crime—the Batman. Forget his Batarangs, Batmobile, or Utility Belt filled with high-tech weapons! Batman is the most scary superhero of all, because he’s pushed himself to the absolute pinnacle of human achievement. He’s a brilliant detective who’s mastered fighting techniques. An Olympic- caliber athlete with a plan for every occasion, Batman’s always five steps ahead of his foes. But in his crusade against injustice, two questions always loom: How far will he go to protect the innocent and will he sacrifice his humanity along the way? -Green Lantern: Being a Green Lantern means facing your fears, and for Hal Jordan, that is something he’s been avoiding throughout his life.When he was a boy, Hal witnessed his greatest nightmare—his pilot father died in a tragic plane crash. Nevertheless, determined to follow his footsteps, Hal repressed his fears, became a reckless, defiant test pilot. But when a dying alien crashed on Earth, the irresponsible Hal was chosen to be that alien’s successor in the Green Lantern Corps. And his life only gets wilder from there. He can fly and create constructions made of pure energy, generating anything from massive green fists to emerald rifles that can snipe from a planet away. But while Hal tends to ignore his fears, he’ll learn the only way to master his ring’s power by confronting and overcoming them. -Aquaman: Being cast out from Atlantis as a baby, Arthur Curry grew up on land, considering himself a normal human. But when he matured, Atlantis returned claiming himself as their rightful king. Aquaman is the king of aqua. He can breathe underwater, swim at tremendous speeds, and telepathically communicate with sea creatures. Being able to withstand ocean depths, he gets bonus points on land with his superhuman strength, enhanced senses, and nearly impenetrable skin. And although his courage and decisive nature have proven him a true heir to Atlantis’ throne, the continual conflict between land and sea makes him a citizen of both. -The Flash: Young Barry Allen’s life stopped the minute his mother was murdered. The true killer was never found, and this mystery made him obsessed, driving him to become a forensic scientist. Consumed by his work, he spent his life chained to his desk, solving every case that flew across it. But when a freak lightning bolt hit a nearby shelf in his lab, Barry received super-speed, becoming the Flash. Then, he would climb up the buildings and travel around the world to get his man—while getting introduced to a world so much bigger than his old life of microscopes and cold cases. He can run up buildings, move so swiftly, create sonic booms with the snap of his fingers. Despite his speed, Barry can become so obsessed with crime-solving.He can still lose track of everything else around him, leaving the fastest man alive constantly running a minute behind.
