This partnership sees the Mitsubishi electric brand feature prominently on the back of the wanderers playing jersey. e are thrilled to be partnering with the western sydney wanderers and this builds on our existing supportW for their terrific home ground Pirtek stadium. we wish the wanderers every success in the forthcoming 2013/2014 season and hope that they manage to go one better in the Grand Final this time around. Community is one of our company's guiding principles and the wanderers embody this in the way in which they have galvanised western sydney and their promotion of health, integration and youth participation in our region. The commitment to work together long term provides a wonderful connection between Mitsubishi electric’s strong international brand and the western sydney community with Mitsubishi electric’s australian based head office being located in Parramatta. The western sydney wanderers had an amazing inaugural hyundai a-League season which saw them win the Premiership and contest the Grand Final, they will also compete in the aFC Champions League in the coming season. while the J-League teams in the aCL are of particular interest to our Mitsubishi electric colleagues in Japan, we are sure that the wanderers will account for themselves well with their usual tenacity and commitment and we are expecting some excellent games. we have thoroughly enjoyed our partnership with the wanderers so far. we have seen some great competition as the standard of the hyundai a-League gets even better and we have had the pleasure of joining with the wanderers and their management team at some great events including our Company Children’s Christmas Party. we are looking forward to the rest of the season and have every confidence in the entire wanderers team to deliver a fantastic result and to continue to live their values of inclusion, engagement and commitment. WSWANDERERSFC.COM.AU 08 REDEMPTION story by Chad Bennett @ChadZZBennett Last season’s grand final loss to the Mariners was notable for a number of reasons. WANDERERS FC VS CENTRAL COAST MARINERS 09 he match set the bar for fan-created atmosphere at an australian sporting decider and helped create Ta new australian sports rivalry but it also robbed the Red and Black of the perfect inaugural season. The 10-game winning streak in the latter half of the season stands as a hyundai a-League record and the 13-game unbeaten run will last in the minds of wanderers supporters for a long time. having won the Premiership on the back of consistency, organisation and discipline, the wanderers were denied a fairy tale finish by the Mariners who completed a Cinderella story of their own. The 2-0 loss was a disappointing end to western sydney’s maiden season and particularly so for wanderers defender Jerome Polenz. "THE GRAND FINAL LOSS IS ALREADY BEHIND ME. I DON'T LOOK TO THE PAST, I ONLY LOOK FORWARD." WSWANDERERSFC.COM.AU 10 "WANDERLAND IS A FORTRESS AND WE'VE DEFENDED IT WELL SO FAR." after nearly cancelling out Patrick Zwaanswijk's opener with a low drive that forced Mat Ryan into a save early in the second half, his 67th minute handball allowed daniel McBreen to convert from the spot and seal the result. But with 10 games already gone in the new season Polenz claims to have moved on. "did i have a handball there?" he joked. "The grand final loss is already behind me. i don't look to the past, i only look forward. "Last season is gone, we have a new season and we have to do everything we can to pick up results in this season." while the memory may already be banished for Polenz, the denial of the hyundai a-League QUALITY WORKMANSHIP DELIVERED ON TIME For outstanding quality, prices, passion and integrity, you to demonstrate Absolute Tilings core values and discuss your cannot surpass market leaders, Absolute Tiling Solutions who project’s needs. are part of the Versatile Group. The students are here this week representing their School Sports Associations, Schools and families. It is an honour to gain representative status as an athlete and we look forward to the emerging performances of those who may emulate the careers of many of the current and former Matildas, Young Matildas and W-League players who have participated previously at these championships. From this championship the NSW Combined High Schools State teams to compete in the NSW All Schools Tournament during June will be announced for fixtures against Combined Catholic Colleges and Combined Independent Schools. • Sydney Monday 10 October 2011 the Message from Qantas Socceroos Is
Sydney Monday 10 October 2011 The message from Qantas Socceroos is that that they are ready to face Oman tomorrow in their 2014 FIFA World Cup Asian Qualifier at ANZ Stadium tomorrow (Tuesday 11 October 2011, Kick-Off 7.30pm AEDT). Speaking at the official pre-match media conference today, Osieck is expecting a tough encounter but will be preparing his team for victory. “We can forget about whatever happened in the past, tomorrow is they game and we have to fully focus on that. That is what we are going to do. “The qualification has not come to an end. All teams in our group still have the chance to go through. “So that makes every game difficult because all teams will go for the three points. “They try to get the utmost out of it and that is what I am expecting tomorrow as well. “A victory is a victory, there is never an excuse for a victory and we go for that tomorrow,” concluded Osieck Qantas Socceroos captain Lucas Neill is also expecting a tough game against Oman tomorrow, but believes that his team is up for the challenge. “We know they’re very difficult, we know they can cause problems because of the pace that they have. With their speed they can break on the counter. “We have to be playing to our potential, or as close to our potential as possible on the night, otherwise we could find ourselves in an embarrassing situation. “Are we ready? Of course we’re ready this is the reason we have come back to play this game.
