It is comprised of a Primary School, a Middle School, and a High School with approximately 82 students in each year group. There are over 68 nationalities represented within the student body, the largest groups being USA, UK, , ISL students nationalities 2020 and . Since 1981, ISL has been accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). ISL is not a test centre for the SAT nor the ACT. Students must make independent arrangements outside of school to take these tests. During the 2019-2020 academic year, ISL followed Swiss Federal guidelines and the local requirements set forth by the Canton de for school operations. All IB Diploma programme examinations across the world were cancelled for the May 2020 session due to COVID-19.
