The fifth was released in and covers seasons 1 to As an in- jokethe guide made an actual appearance in the episode " Today I Am a Clown ", where Lisa uses it to remind Homer that Santa's Little Helper was supposedly neutered in a previous episode specifically, " Two Dozen and One Greyhounds ". The guide provides an episode-by-episode history of the first eight seasons of The Simpsons. Each episode is covered in either one or two pages, featuring a synopsis, credits, pictures, and memorable quotes, as well as the episode's chalkboard gag. Obscure or hidden jokes are also brought to attention. The episodes are arranged in chronological order, and at the beginning of each season are two-page special features, such as a list and brief description of The The Simpsons World the Ultimate Episode Guide Seasons 1-20 shorts from The Tracey Ullman Showa list of times Homer has said " D'oh! On two pages there are short biographies of each of the five immediate members of the Simpson family, namely Homer, MargeBartLisa and Maggie. The Simpsons Forever! Continued is an episode guide for the ninth and tenth seasons of The Simpsonsstarting with " The City of New York vs. Gimple and released in Groening wrote an introduction to The Simpsons Forever! In his introduction, he claims that the choice was made to publish a second book as opposed to revising and republishing the last edition, to spare consumers from purchasing material they already owned. Groening goes on to describe the format of the book, which, like the last, includes synopses and quotes. The book continues the work of the last edition by listing the times Homer cries " D'oh! The Simpsons Beyond Forever! Still Continued is an episode guide for the eleventh and twelfth seasons of The Simpsons. It was edited by Jesse L. McCann and published in by HarperCollins. The book consists of synopses and quotes for each episode, beginning with " Beyond Blunderdome " and ending with " Simpsons Tall Tales ". In this way it follows the last two books. However, this edition dedicates two pages of coverage to every episode, and four pages of coverage for each Halloween special. It thus outdoes the prior editions, which had one-to-two page coverage for each episode. The book also continues the work of the last two editions by listing the times Homer cries "D'oh! Sketches from the early production are included. Groening wrote an introduction to the book, as he had for the previous editions. In it, he refers to the eleventh and twelfth seasons as the "Wackier-Than-Ever Years", and explains that it had been the objective to take the series in unexpected directions. To this end, the character Apu became the father of octuplets " Eight Misbehavin' " and Homer lost a thumb " Trilogy of Error ". He lists among these the farm animals driven insane by the food product tomacco " E-I-E-I- Annoyed Grunt " and the portrayal of the dolphins enslaving mankind " Treehouse of Horror XI ". He also identifies the episode " Worst Episode Ever " as one The Simpsons World the Ultimate Episode Guide Seasons 1-20 particularly enjoyed, calling it "a very special story. The Simpsons World the Ultimate Episode Guide Seasons 1-20 and like its predecessors, has an episode-by-episode guide to seasons 13 and 14 of The Simpsons. Each episode guide includes quotes, a "Stuff You May Have Missed" section, and references to films, television shows, and books. As in the previous three books, each episode includes a character profile sidebar. All special guest stars appearing in seasons 13—14 are listed with the episode they appeared in. After the episode guide portion of the book are hundreds of pages of even more Simpsons The Simpsons World the Ultimate Episode Guide Seasons 1-20 everything Homer had said "D'oh" or "Mmm" about, every marquee ever written on the church's lawn, every couch gag, even every lyric to every song ever sung on the show This book is like the encylopedia galactica! It has to be because it dedicates two pages to each episode of the first twenty seasons! Add to that all of the extra's and you end up with a 1, page tome that offers knowledge and wisdom, Simpson style, on just about every aspect of an average Joe's life.

    Homer Economicus: Using The Simpsons to Teach Economics Joshua Hall* West Virginia University Getting students to understand the economic way of thinking might be the most difficult aspect of a teaching economist=s job. The counterintuitive nature of economics often makes it difficult to get the average student to think Alike an economist.@ To this end, the need to keep students engaged and interested is essential when teaching economic principles and interdisciplinary approaches to engaging students are becoming increasingly common. For example, Leet and Houser (2003) build an entire principles class around classic films and documentaries while Watts (1999) discusses how literary passages can be used to teach a typical undergraduate course more effectively. I further extend this interdisciplinary approach to economic education by providing examples from the long-running animated television show The Simpsons that can be used to stimulate student discussion and engagement in an introductory course in microeconomics. Using The Simpsons in the classroom The bulk of this paper describes scenes from The Simpsons that illustrate basic economic concepts. This exploration is done because of great interest by the author and the lack of psychoanalytical analysis found connected to The Simpsons television show. The main aim is to show that these three characters, Homer Simpson, Marge Simpson and Ned Flanders, represent Freud‟s three parts of the psyche, the id, the ego and the superego, respectively. Other Freudian terms and ideas are also discussed. Those include: the reality principle, the pleasure principle, anxiety, repression and aggression. For this analysis English translations of Sigmund Freud‟s original texts and other written sources, including psychology textbooks, and a selection of The Simpsons episodes, are used. The character study is split into three chapters, one for each character. The first chapter, which is about Homer Simpson and his controlling id, his oral character, the Oedipus complex and his relationship with his parents, is the longest due to the subchapter on the relationship between him and Marge, the id and the ego. The second chapter is on Marge Simpson, her phobia, anxiety, aggression and repression. In the third and last chapter, Ned Flanders and his superego is studied, mainly through the religious aspect of the character.

    The Simpsons Tapped Out - Analysis and Proposed Events Overview Players like myself have faithfully enjoyed The Simpsons Tapped Out (TSTO) for several years. The developers have continued to expand the game and provide updates in response to player feedback. This has been evident in tools such as the IRS Building tap radius, the Introduction Unemployment Office Job Manager and the Cut & Paste feature, all of which are greatly appreciated by players and have extended the playability of TSTO for many of us who would have otherwise found the game too tedious to continue once their Springfields grew so large. Notably, as respects Events, positive reactive efforts were identifiable in the 2017 Winter Event and the modified use of craft currency. As evident from the forums, many dedicated and heavily-invested players have grown tired with some of TSTO's stale mechanics and gameplay, as well as the proliferation of uninspired content, much of which has little to no place in Springfield, if even the world of "The Simpsons." This Premise player attitude is often displayed in the later stages of major Events as players begin to sense monotony due to a lack in changes throughout an Event, resulting in a feeling that one is merely grinding through the game to stock up on largely unwanted Items. Content-driven major Events geared toward "The Simpsons" version of Springfield with changes of pace, more like mini-Events, and the Solution addition of new Effects, enabling a variety of looks while injecting a new degree of both familiarity and customization for players. As in years past, "Treehouse of Horror VI” features three vignettes, each a parody of a Hollywood legend or cultural icon. In the climactic moments of "Treehouse of Horror VI," Homer accidentally steps into the third dimension while desperately trying to avoid his sisters-in-law, Patty and Selma. Having lived his entire life in the 2D world, Homer enjoys his new depth until, through a minor mishap, he creates a black hole which threatens to engulf the entire universe.
