Anyone who’s endured the tense experience of sitting in a waiting room while a loved one undergoes surgery can appreciate the reassurance of the GE Centricity Surgical Management System’s Tracker Board. In the waiting room, friends and family members can follow the patient using a private identification number on a virtual “white board” and track their loved one’s surgical progress from arrival to the recovery room. Within the surgical areas, the same information is displayed in more detail, allowing staff to better manage resources to attend to patients.

“For example, the recovery room staff can tell approximately when patients will be arriving from the operating room based on the case status of their display,” said Dale Moyer, Vice President of Information Systems/Chief Information Officer. “Similarly, staff knows when a room is available to be cleaned and prepped for the next case.”
