They are slow whilst standing upright, but when knocked down they stay in a lying position and move by skittering very quickly along the ground. The Patient Demon symbolizes a hospital and/or mental patient squirming in agony, and are also a manifestation of James Sunderland's internal suering. They also allude to James' sexual frustration, as they appear to be wearing thong underwear and heeled boots. The creature has been nicknamed Body Bag, Straight-Jacket, No Arm-ies, Condom Man, and Patient Demon prior to the release of The Book of Lost Memories which confirmed the oicial name. Headless, armless living sewing dummies which bear a resemblance to German artist Hans Bellmer's Dolls, directly modeled aer the images from some of his work, depicting two sets of legs joined by their waists. These monsters consist of a feminine human torso and legs, upon which rest two more legs standing upright. The top pair of legs are used for striking while the bottom pair are used for walking. The creatures react highly to light and tend to stand still in plain sight. However, once the player approaches about three to five feet away they spring to life and start to attack.     ABOUT PHOTOSENSITIVE SEIZURES A very small percentage of people may experience a seizure when exposed to certain visual images, including flashing lights or patterns that may appear in video games. Even people who have no history of seizures or epilepsy may have an undiagnosed condition that can cause these “photosensitive epileptic seizures” while watching video games. These seizures may have a variety of symptoms including: Lightheadedness, altered vision, eye or face twitching, jerking or shaking of arms or legs, disorientation, confusion, or momentary loss of awareness. Seizures may also cause loss of consciousness or convulsions that can lead to injury from falling down or striking nearby objects. Immediately stop playing and consult a doctor if you experience any of these symptoms. Parents should watch for or ask their children about the above symptoms–children and teenagers are more likely than adults to experience these seizures. The risk of photosensitive epileptic seizures may be reduced by: • sitting farther from the television screen, • using a smaller television screen, • playing in a well-lit room, and • not playing when you are drowsy or fatigued. If you or any of your relatives have a history of seizures or epilepsy, consult a doctor before playing. AVOID DAMAGE TO YOUR TELEVISION Do not use with certain televisions. Not all players have a taste for its subject matter and style, though players and critics still hold it in high regard and write about it often. Its story/gameplay interaction method is an old standard, and contains no conceptual leap or notable innovations in that regard. Nonetheless, it illustrates a successful solution to what may be the single most common barrier to invoking emotion through game narrative applicable to many genres, and many themes. This narrative review seeks to shed light on that barrier without proposing a single solution. Instead, it provides an example of a game that does not suffer from that common limitation, as support of the thesis. Finally, this review gives some general conceptual frameworks for possible application of the lessons learned. Overview The player character and main character of Silent Hill 2 is James Sunderland. Beyond elements crucial to the narrative, the game leaves the player to fill in the details of James' character traits. The effect is that James initially appears to be a ‘normal guy’ in an understandable state of depression over the loss of his wife Maria, who died due to illness three years before the game begins.

    GALERIE CHAPPE Press Release On the occasion of the theatrical release of the movie Silent Hill : Revelation 3D, the Galerie Chappe (Paris, France) is pleased to showcase for the first time in Europe the artworks of Masahiro Ito, art director of the Silent Hill video game series. Born in 1972 in Saitama (Japan), Masahiro Ito received a degree from the Graphic Design department of the Tama Art University (Tokyo). In 1997, he joined the teams of Konami, an important japanese company that publishes and develops video games since the late 1970s. He was soon asked to design the creatures of Silent Hill’s first episode, released in 1999. He continued to collaborate with Konami on episodes 2 and 3 of the Silent Hill sequel, again as an art director. Masahiro Ito’s work is filled with tormented surrealism where eroticism mixes with the morbid. The artist draws his inspiration from European visual arts or the movies as much as from the observation of the everyday life. His artworks stand out from classical horror creations by vividly appealing to emotions and imagination. Due to be released jointly to Silent Hill: Revelation 3D are two action figures designed by Masahiro Ito and produced by Toymunkey Studios. These brand new figurines represent two seminal characters from the Silent Hill series : Pyramid Head and Bubble Head Nurse. The latters will be displayed exclusively at the Galerie Chappe, as well as a body of works by Masahiro Ito, created especially for the exhibition and emanating from his personal artistic researches. The dark and nightmarish atmosphere of Silent Hill will be more widely revisited with regard to Art History through an open dialogue with artworks by renowned artists Hans Bellmer, Hans-Ruedi Giger, Pierre Molinier or Joel-Peter Witkin… An exhibition dedicated to video games’ most experienced admirers as well as neophytes, to art lovers as well as people curious of the links that can be provided between the arts.

Fue en 2011 cuan- do empezó 4 players, un proyecto de radio universitario con Era el año 2001, el género Survival Horror estaba viviendo el único propósito de informar, platicar y desarrollar temas una época de éxito y tras la salida de una nueva generación relacionados con el extenso mundo de los videojuegos. La de consolas era tiempo de ver el legado que nos habían de- intención fue clara desde un principio, no sólo tratamos de jado sagas como Resident Evil, Clock Tower y Silent Hill.
