Abstract: The text I present here on "Agustín Lara: Romanticism and bolero identity", is the result of a communication read at the III International Congress Music, Culture and Identity in the Caribbean, held in Santo Domingo in 2010, under the coordination of the Cultural Center "Eduardo León Jiménez". Keywords: Mexican bolero, Agustín Lara, multiplicity of musical rhythms, ethnomusicology.
