NEXT GENERATION JAZZERIE’S Performance Committee is seeking proposals from local and regional jazz musicians for CONCERT original concerts for the Fall, 2008 – Spring, 2009 concert season. Please SatURDAY, MAy 3 7:00 pm • mCDOWELL INTERMEDiate send us a brief description of the concert you would like to present, tentative HIGH SCHOOL, 3320 CAUGHEY ROAD., MILLCREEK names of other musicians involved, and an estimate of cost for the concert. Estimated cost should include musicians’ pay for the concert and may include one paid rehearsal, plus any special equipment needed (not including sound.) The committee is not looking for what Mulgrew Miller once dryly called “interview music.” Words may or may not be a part of the presentation. What they are looking for is a core theme and original material. Criteria for selection: • The concert should have some kind of theme, for example, the music of a particular performer or composer. • A concert may also contain verbal or pictorial information about the topic, presented to the audience in an informative and/or entertaining style.
