The main focus of his work was Gaelic Scotland where he recorded the events and traditions of the local people, including a wealth of poetry, music and song from generations of tradition bearers. Fifty years on, 22-year-old Pàdruig Morrison from Grimsay in North Uist, who has a passion for Scottish studies and music, sets out to discover more about this remarkable man. Although his contribution to the likes of the School of Scottish Studies is vast, his name as a pioneer of folklore collecting methods is largely unknown to the masses due to his untimely passing in 1983. With archive recordings and interviews from family members, colleagues, and friends, this programme explores the remarkable legacy he left to Scottish folklore.

Shetland, Ep 3/6 Monday 26 February BBC One, 9.00-10.00pm

Calum is rushed to hospital after attempting suicide. He dies shortly afterwards. To Perez’s dismay, Sandy admits to giving Calum the pen he used to kill himself. Convinced that Aaron McGuire is the key to unlocking the murder cases and finding Zezi, Perez heads for the airport and a flight to Glasgow. On arrival in the city, Perez is met by DI Sam Boyd from the trafficking unit. Together they talk to Claire McGuire, Aaron’s ex-wife who runs an employment agency in the city centre. Claire says she hasn’t seen Aaron for years and appears shocked to learn of his potential involvement in human trafficking. Perez and Boyd follow Claire McGuire’s car to a rundown tenement building on the southside. There they find some trafficked men and some terrified African girls. One of them has the same distinctive butterfly tattoo that Perez saw on the barmaid at the Hillside Hotel. Further investigation reveals that a tattoo artist by the name of Andrea may be responsible for tattooing the trafficked workers - using the butterfly tattoos as a form of branding. Back on Shetland, Tosh questions a weak Jamie Hayes about the hash farm. Jamie mentions Prentice’s treatment of away-day girl Rosie and Tosh suspects he has a crush on her. Perez discovers a connection between Andrea and a Glasgow businessman called Gilbert Benson. Originally from Shetland, Benson is a major property developer in the city and a seemingly upstanding member of the community. Is it possible he’s involved in the trafficking? Real Kashmir FC  NEW Tuesday 26 February BBC Scotland, 10.00-11.00pm

Davie Robertson – former Aberdeen, Rangers and Leeds United stalwart - is a long way from home. In fact, he’s a long way from anywhere. He’s the new manager of Real Kashmir F.C, and he’s left behind his wife, and the millionaire lifestyle he earned from football, to live in a shared house in a city that regularly suffers violent protests and terrorist attacks. This first film in the new Modern Lives documentary strand looks at what that drives him so far to be the manager of Real Kashmir FC. For Davie few things in life can match the highs and lows of football. Real Kashmir are up-and-coming, newly promoted to a league where most of the other teams have much deeper pockets, more fans and a longer history. To beat them Davie must put into action his “masterplan”. But against the background of chaos in Jammu & Kashmir it is questionable that it will ever work. In a place where violent protests erupt most weekends, the electricity is routinely switched off and even the basics can be a struggle. This is not just a footballing story - it's also about hopes, dreams, and family. Davie’s obsession with football has driven him to the ends of the earth, and in amongst the struggle for success on the field he has to learn to live in very unfamiliar world, far from his wife Kym. Davie’s used to the comforts his success in football brought him. With Kym and his two children he enjoyed living in the States – where he moved after his playing career came to an early end. His son, Mason, is with him in Kashmir and is now a regular in the team, living in Srinagar near his father. As the new season starts, Davie needs to make sure his team believes they can win. As each big game approaches everything needs to be right. He’s lifted his team before and led them to promotion but now the aim is to succeed in the higher league. Real Kashmir FC is a Matchlight production for BBC Scotland.

The Grey Area  NEW Tuesday 26 February BBC Scotland, 11.00pm - Midnight

The Grey Area is a remarkable new film from Bafta-winning director Garry Anthony Fraser and featuring cast largely found through self-run drama workshops and engagement with addiction recovery groups in Edinburgh, which also serves as the location for the story. This intense hour-long drama is a visceral fast-paced and gritty depiction of a young rapper Mikey, a burnt-out addict Marcus and a teenage misfit Stephen, as they each struggle to overcome the consequences of gang violence and drugs, sound-tracked with fresh hip-hop music from the city's estates. Newcomer Shaun Bhatti (aka rapper Zesh) plays Mikey in a pivotal story which sees his character losing all he holds dear – with the death of his partner and the loss of custody of his young daughter - and fighting his way back, relying on hip-hop MCing for an emotional release. The question of redemption is at the heart of the drama, and viewers will be taken through an intoxicating journey as Mikey faces up to reality. Mikey and other characters come up against ruthless drug dealer Buddha, played by Garry Fraser, who also co-wrote the film alongside producer and cinematographer, Garry Torrance.

Garry Fraser took the role of 2nd Unit Director on T2 Trainspotting after directing the Bafta-winning documentary Everybody's Child, but this will be his first major screen acting role.
