MONDAY 2 APRIL – EASTER MONDAY TV & RADIO HIGHLIGHTS / BBC WEEK 14 ______

Long Night at Blackstone  NEW Monday 2 April BBC One Scotland, 9.00-10.00pm

The cynical crew of a phoney paranormal TV show must battle real-life terror, trapped inside a dilapidated manor in black comedy Long Night at Blackstone. Faye Bowers is the host of Ghost Haunt Live, a low rent paranormal activity show she fronts with psychic sidekick Pat Tomorrow. A master of trickery and pretence, Faye is desperate to be taken seriously as a journalist so when she discovers the show is about to be axed, she’s determined to go out with a bang. The venue of the must-see final showdown is the mysterious Blackstone Manor, a huge dilapidated pile inhabited by the eccentric Laird of Blackstone. Although filming starts normally enough, it soon becomes apparent that all is not right and a Long Night at Blackstone beckons for Faye and her crew including producer Dominique, Charlie the cameraman, sound recordist Diane, Toby the runner and make-up artist Susie. And, spookily enough, for the very first time in the show’s history, the ghosts and ghouls may, in fact, be real…and very dangerous. Battling backstabbing colleagues as well as the terrors of Blackstone Manor, Faye finds herself making a show that could catapult her journalistic career into the big league – if she can survive the night.

Long Night at Blackstone is ’s second outing as director, following on from the hilarious, and terrifying, West Skerra Light which embraced the spirit of Hallowe’en in 2016. Starring Lorraine McIntosh as Faye Bowers, John Gordon Sinclair as Pat Tomorrow, John Michie as the Laird, Julie Wilson Nimmo as Dominique, Lewis Howden as Charlie, Natali Mcleary as Diane, Michael Abubakar as Toby, Lorna Craig as Susie and introducing a very special mystery guest. Long Night at Blackstone is a Hopscotch Films production for BBC Scotland.

Limmy’s Homemade Show  NEW Thursday 5 April BBC Two Scotland, 10.00 – 10.30pm

Limmy is back with another helping of his distinctive brand of comedy and this time he has gone completely solo. Self-shot in his home and out and about in locations around his native , this one-off half hour treat is packed full of scenarios and observations which spring from his unique imagination. Punctuated by techno versions of familiar ditties, Limmy’s Homemade Show features scenes and musings which often seem to be rooted in the mundane – until the funnyman adds his own particular twists. In his homemade show Limmy, aka Brian Limond, opens the door to a tradesman who gets more than he bargained for and to a group of young men whose dabblings in the spirit world prove unsettling. There’s also the appearance of a mysterious individual during a routine piece of filming at home. A visit to the museum prompts a vision of the future and while meandering by the river, Limmy attempts an academic explanation of how comedy works to a tough audience.
