Broadcasting Notice of Consultation CRTC 2013-322 Broadcasting Notice of Consultation CRTC 2013-322 PDF version Ottawa, 4 July 2013 Notice of applications received Various locations Renewal of the broadcasting licences for certain commercial, ethnic and religious radio stations Deadline for submission of interventions/comments/answers: 29 July 2013 [Submit an intervention/comment/answer or view related documents] The Commission announces that it has received applications to renew the broadcasting licences for certain commercial, ethnic and religious radio programming undertakings, which expire 31 August 2013. The applications set out below are complete. The licensees propose to operate their undertakings under the same terms and conditions as specified in the current licences and in the last renewal decisions, with the exception of Canadian talent development (CTD) requirements, which have been replaced by the Canadian content development (CCD) requirements set out in section 15 of the Radio Regulations, 1986 (the Regulations). In addition, the licensees will be required to adhere to the conditions set out in Conditions of licence for commercial AM and FM radio stations, Broadcasting Regulatory Policy CRTC 2009-62, 11 February 2009. In each case, the Commission has examined the licensee’s compliance with requirements regarding CTD, CCD and the filing of annual returns, as set out by condition of licence and in section 9(2) of the Regulations. In certain cases, the Commission monitored logger tapes and music lists in order to determine the licensee’s compliance with requirements regarding the broadcast of Canadian musical selections and French-language vocal music, where applicable. In the list below, stations identified with an asterisk (*) have been monitored by the Commission. The monitoring report has been placed on each licensee’s public examination file. A copy can be obtained by contacting one of the Commission’s documentation centres. Based on this examination, the Commission considers that the licensees listed below are in compliance with those regulatory requirements. The Commission intends to renew these broadcasting licences for a full seven-year term, subject to interventions. 2 Ethnic radio stations Name and address of licensee, and email address/website to Application number, request an electronic version of the application call sign and location 1760791 Ontario Inc. 2013-0095-4 1515 Britannia Road East CINA Mississauga, Suite 315 Ontario Mississauga, Ontario L4W 4K1 Fax: 905-795-9030 Email: [email protected] Email to request an electronic version of the application: [email protected] 3885275 Canada Inc. 2012-1620-1 306 Rexdale Boulevard CJSA Toronto, Suite 1 Ontario Toronto, Ontario M9W 1R6 Fax: 416-741-1013 Email: [email protected] Email to request an electronic version of the application: [email protected] Website: www.cmr24.fm Mennonite Community Services of Southern Ontario 2013-0144-9 16 Talbot Street East CHPD-FM Aylmer, Aylmer, Ontario Ontario N5H 1H4 Fax: 519-765-3023 Email: [email protected] Email to request an electronic version of the application: [email protected] Website: www.mcson.org Religious radio stations Name and address of licensee, and email address/website to Application number, request an electronic version of the application call sign and location Golden West Broadcasting Ltd. 2013-0163-9 P.O. • Sheigra Dxpedition Report
Sheigra DXpedition Report 12 th to 25 th October 2019 - with Dave Kenny & Alan Pennington This was the 58th DXpedition to Sheigra in Sutherland on the far north western tip of the Scottish mainland, just south of Cape Wrath. DXers made the first long drive up here in 1979, so this we guess, was the 40 th anniversary? And the DXers who first made the trip to Sheigra in 1979 to listen to MW would probably notice little change here today: the single-track road ending in the same cluster of cottages, the cemetery besides the track towards the sea and, beyond that, the machair in front of Sheigra’s sandy bay. And surrounding Sheigra, the wild windswept hillsides, lochans and rocky cliffs pounded by the Atlantic. (You can read reports on our 18 most recent Sheigra DXpeditions on the BDXC website here: http://bdxc.org.uk/articles.html ) Below: Sheigra from the north: Arkle and Ben Stack the mountains on the horizon. Once again we made Murdo’s traditional crofter’s cottage our DX base. From here our long wire Beverage aerials can radiate out across the hillsides towards the sea and the Americas to the west and north west, and eastwards towards Asia, parallel to the old, and now very rough, peat track which continues on north east into the open moors after the tarmac road ends at Sheigra. right: Dave earths the Caribbean Beverage. We were fortunate to experience good MW conditions throughout our fortnight’s stay, thanks to very low solar activity. And on the last couple of days we were treated to some superb conditions with AM signals from the
