About the Contributors

George Leal Jamil is a professor of several post-graduation courses from Minas Gerais, Brazil. He has a PhD in Information Science from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), Masters degree in Computer Science (UFMG) and undergraduated in Electric Engineering (UFMG). He got a pos-doctorate certificate at FLUP – Communication School at University of Porto, , in 2014. He wrote more than thirty books in the information technology and strategic management areas, with more than ten works in books as co-author and Editor. He works also as a business consultant and as an active ecosystem actor in business innovation and startups front in several countries. His main research interests are information systems management, strategy, knowledge management, software engineering, marketing and IT adoption in business contexts.

Luciana Caruso de Assis is economist graduated by Universidade Federal de São João Del Rei, Minas Gerais, Brazil. She has specialization in Managment with emphasis in Bussiness from Fundação Dom Cabral. She works with industrial and project costs, budget, capex, feasibility analysis and process improvement.

Karina Garcia Coleta is a Ph.D. candidate in Business Administration at Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Minas Gerais. She holds a master’s degree in Theology from Faculdade Jesuíta de Filosofia e Teologia, a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Minas Gerais, and a specialization in Translation Studies from Universidade Gama Filho. She currently works at Fundação Dom Cabral as a researcher and guest professor.

Jorge Costa is a pharmacist from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1981), MA in Chemistry of Natural Products from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1987) and PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biology from Oswaldo Cruz Institute / Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (2005). Professional performance of more than 20 years in the pharmaceutical industry. He joined the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation in 2002 as a Technologist in Public Health. He is currently an advisor at the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation’s VPPIS of Production and Innovation in Health (VPPIS). He has experience in Chemistry, with emphasis on Organic Synthesis, working mainly in the following areas: research and development of new molecules with anti-inflammatory activity for the treatment of pulmonary diseases, such as asthma and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).

Hasan Dinçer is an Associate Professor of finance at Istanbul Medipol University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Istanbul-Turkey. Dr. Dinçer has BAs in Financial Markets and Investment Management at Marmara University. He received PhD in Finance and Banking with his thesis entitled “The Effect of Changes on the Competitive Strategies of New Service Development in the Banking Sector”. He has work experience in finance sector as portfolio specialist and his major academic studies focusing on financial instruments, performance evaluation, and economics. He is the executive editor of the International Journal of Finance and Banking Studies (IJFBS) and the founder member of the Society for the Study of Business and Finance (SSBF).

Filippo Ferrari holds a Bachelor degree in Work and Organizational Psychology and a Masters de- gree in Adult Training and Education. He currently serves as a Lecturer at Bologna University, School of Economics, Management and Statistics, where he teaches Organizational Behaviour and Design and Human Resources Management. His fields of interests are International Human Resources Management, Organizational Reliability, Adult Training.

Dalini Ferraz has 14 years of experience working as a consultant in the areas of Strategy, Business Performance and Culture Management in companies of medium and large sizes in the public and private sectors. Academic developments in the area of Strategy and People. Master of Business Administra- tion at PUCMG, Post-graduation in Marketing at Fundação Dom Cabral, Extension at the University of Cambridge, and Graduation in Business at UFMG. She is currently a manager at Betania Tanure Associados, working on the development of organizational culture and leadership development in large private companies.

Mariane Figueira earned her Master’s degree (2008) and her Ph.D. (2013) in Business Admin- istration from the University of Lavras (UFLA), Brazil. The PhD included a period of research at the University of , at the Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (IIE), located in the city of Gothenburg, . Currently, as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at UFLA, her projects focus Innovation Management and International Business, especially innovation developed in subsidiaries of multinational firms, and knowledge transfer from foreign multinationals to Brazilian local companies in the agricultural biotechnology industry sector.

Begoña Alvarez García is a lecturer in the Department of Business at the University of A Coruña (). She has also been a lecturer at the University of Paris IX-Dauphine () and the Coordinator of the Master in Banking and Finance at the University of A Coruña. She holds a PhD degree in Economy and Management from the University of A Coruña and she was given an Extraordinary Doctorate Award. She has completed several research stages in the Universities of Paris-Dauphine and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). She has participated in several European and national research projects and she has published several books related to financial topics. She is currently working on two lines of research: the first one focused on financial topics, and the second one on social innovations.

Zulmira Hartz holds a licence in education from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, a degree in Medicine from FESO-Rio de Janeiro, and an MA and PhD in Community Health from the Université de Montreal. She also completed a post-doc at the École Nationale de Santé Publique-France. She is a full researcher in Epidemiology at ENSP/Fiocruz (retired), where she coordinated the MA and

PhD programs in Public Health, having also coordinated the postgraduate program of the FIOCRUZ. She was also an invited professor at the Department of Social Medicine of the University of Montréal, where she is still an associate researcher of the Groupe de Recherche Interdisciplinaire en Santé (GRIS). She was a deputy director of the Escola Nacional de Saúde Pública (Fiocruz) and deputy director at Instituto de Higiene e Medicina Tropical/University NOVA of Lisbon. She is currently a full professor, and the convenor of the module on Health Evaluation of the PhD Program in International Health at IHMT/NOVA.

Miftachul Huda is a researcher at Faculty of Islamic Civilisation, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. His research interest includes the field of educational studies: moral, Islamic and multicultural educa- tion, learning theory, adaptive teaching and learning technology. He has been experienced in working on research for more than five years. Contributing several works, he is currently the member of the advisory editorial board in some international journals. Traveling in some countries with scholarly intent makes him extensive experience on his research expertise in international trend and issues. Gabriel Pestana obtained his PhD at the Technical University of Lisbon in the area of Information Systems being a promoter of applied research methodologies in the fields of Knowledge Management and collaborative decision-making. Annika Rickne is Professor of Industrial Organization in the field of Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Industrial Dynamics (adjunct) at the Department of Management and Engineering, at Linköping University. She earned her Ph.D. in Technology Management from Chalmers University of Technology in 2000, and was named reader (Docent) at Lund University in 2005. She has held positions at Chalm- ers University of Technology (School of Technology Management), Lund University (CIRCLE), the Dahmén Institute, the University of Gothenburg (Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship) and at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH). Rickne has published well-cited studies in journals such as Research Policy, Industry and Innovation, Science and Public Policy and Small Business Economics, and has coedited several books. She analyses issues of entrepreneurship, innovation and industrial dynamics at various levels – within technology-based organizations, at the sectoral level, and within innovation systems – and draws conclusions for strategy as well as for policy.

Budi Rismayadi is senior lecturer at Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Singaper- bangsa Karawang, Indonesia. He has many experienced position as chairman in one of the High School of Economics Science in 2004 to 2008, and had served as chairman of the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) University of Singaperbangsa Karawang in 2009 to 2014, and currently serves as Dean of the Faculty of Business and Social Sciences at the University of Buana Perjuangan Karawang, Indonesia. Javier Tarrío Saavedra is an industrial engineer and PhD in Statistics and Operations Research. He is a lecturer in the areas of Statistics and Material Science at the University of A Coruña (Spain). He has participated in several European and national research projects and he is the author of several publications and papers. His lines of research and collaborations with companies are related to the statistical quality control, the analysis of functional and multivariate data, bibliometrics, and, fundamentally, statistical applications for solving problems in materials science and engineering.

He was executive who held business career positions as Coordinator, Manager, and Director of some multinationals enterprises like Unilever, FIAT, Toshiba and he was entrepreneurship in some different sectors. His professional experience includes the areas of Education, Automotive, Hygiene and Clean- ing, Mining, Engineering, and Energy. As a professor, he worked in FDC, FGV in Brazil. He already lectured for Kellogg, CKGSB, INSEAD, in joint programs with FDC. Professor Salum teaches at open enrollment and custom programs, and corporate partnership programs at FDC. He is an author of some articles and books and chapters published by Cengage Learning and Palgrave MacMillan.

Maria José Sousa (PhD in Management) is a University Professor and a research fellow of CIEO (Algarve University) and BRU-ISCTE/IUL. Her research interests currently are information science, innovation and business management issues, with a particular focus on the learning and knowledge management processes. She is a best seller author in ICT and People Management and has co-authored over 50 articles and book chapters and published in several scientific journals (e.g. I. J. of Knowledge, Culture and Change Management, Knowledge Management, I.J. of Systems and Service-Oriented Engineering, Wseas Transactions on Business and Economics and Information Systems Frontiers and others), she has also organized and peer-reviewed international conferences, and is the guest-editor of three Special Issues. She has participated in several European projects of innovation transfer and is also External Expert of COST Association - European Cooperation in Science and Technology and Presi- dent of the ISO/TC 260 – Human Resources Management, representing Portugal in the International Organization for Standardization.

Joel Yutaka Sugano is Professor at the Business and Economics Department, at the University of Lavras (UFLA), Brazil, teaching and researching themes related to Business Strategies in the Digital Age, Business Models Innovation, Business Platforms, Innovation and Competitiveness and Entrepreneurship. He holds a postdoctoral degree in Business Administration from Wageningen University (Netherlands), a PhD from University (Japan), and is currently the advisor of several doctoral and master stu- dents. He is a reserch member of the Terrestrial Mobility Laboratory (LMT/UFLA). He acts as Deputy Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Administration at UFLA, and is author of several national and international scientific papers in the topics above. He is a co-founder of Tbit (www.tbit.com.br), a global IT startup in the agribusiness sector with Series A financing by Microsoft and Monsanto, among others. At Tbit, he acted as Commercial Director, contributing to a consistent trajectory of growth, leading the company to reach oversea markets in the seed and grains analysis. He is also a co-founder of Plataforma de Negócios Tecnologia e Inovação, a business consulting company in the public and private sectors, with projects that encompassed areas of innovation, management and sustainability.

Ali Tula is a Human Resources Executive in education sector. He has BSc in Mathematics at Istan- bul Maltepe University and he has MBA at Istanbul Sehir University. Also, he has been studying Phd programme at Istanbul Medipol University in Management and Strategy since 2017.

José Pablo Abeal Vázquez is a lecturer in the area of Financial Economics and Accounting of the Department of Business of the University of A Coruña (Spain). He has also taught at several University Schools linked to the University of A Coruña and other Private Universities. Serhat Yüksel is Assistant Professor of finance in İstanbul Medipol University. Before this position, he worked as a senior internal auditor for seven years in Finansbank, Istanbul-Turkey and 1 year in Konya Food and Agriculture University as an assistant professor. Dr. Yüksel has a BS in Business Administra- tion (in English) from Yeditepe University (2006) with full scholarship. He got his master degree from the economics in Boğaziçi University (2008). He also has a PhD in Banking from Marmara University (2015). His research interests lie in banking, finance and financial crisis.
