Welcome back! We’ve had a busy start to the term with 12 of our teams starting sport this week. We’ve got a few more next week and the final seasons begin in week 3. We are still in the process of setting fees for a number of codes and will let you know as soon as possible the cost for the season. We continue to ask all those who can, to download the NZ COVID TRACER APP. We have QR codes up around the sports facilities and ask anyone using the facilities outside school hours to sign in with them. Good luck to all our teams who play in the coming week. If your child is entering a sport where they will be representing Rosehill College you need to inform the Sports Office. Often we are required to fill in paperwork and this needs to be done by the Sports Department. Open Boys Basketball, 4 May Rosehill 55 - Rosehill Development 24 Training Days and Times Term 2 Rosehill 58 - Mangere 20 Our season started on Tuesday evening (a little earlier than usual), with grading games. Week one saw Rosehill Prems with two games and a great start to grading resulted in two wins for us; 55-24 against Rosehill Development and 58-20 against Mangere College. Well done team! Thanks to our two refs, Lin Bohse-Mansell and Nick Gregory. And a big thanks to all our supporters turning out on week one - awesome to have a full gallery. Open Girls Basketball, 4 May, against Rosehill 34 - Manurewa 35 The Open Girls Basketball team had their first game on Tuesday against Manurewa High School. The girls played well, but lost by one point with the final score being 34-35. Thank you to all the friends and family that came down to support the girls! 1st XI Boys Hockey, 5 May, game against Auckland Grammar Rosehill 1 - AGS 3 This Wednesday the 1st Xl Hockey boys played a tough game against Auckland Grammar at Lloyd Elsmore Sports Park. The game was exciting throughout both halves and the boys gave it their all. Rosehill boys scored through a beautiful strike by Ben Reay in the first half to keep the game even. Unfortunately, our boys had lost the lead at the end of the game and Auckland Grammar finished out on Keeping up to date top. Te Hiku o Te Ika Maori U18 Rugby Camp Rosehill First XV players, Ryan Mitchie, Quinn Lawton & Jordan Te Puni recently attended the Te Hiku o Te Ika Maori U18 Rugby Camp. The 2 1/2 day camp in Huntly, included the learning, understanding and Mana enhancing activities. Rugby drills and training sessions culminated in some outstanding rugby skills being on display during the weekend. Well done boys on being selected for this amazing opportunity.
