Negli anni Duemila realizza tre art/porn: Skin Flick, The Raspberry Reich e L.A. Zombie, oltre al film indipendente Otto; or, Up with Dead People. Nel 2010 dirige due documentari della serie Into the Night with... per ARTE: il primo con protagonisti Harmony Korine e Gaspar Noé, il secondo con Béatrice Dalle e Virginie Despentes. Dirige anche tre opere teatrali: Cheap Blacky (2007), The Bad Breast; or, The Strange Case of Theda Lange (2009) e Macho Family Romance (2009). -

I must add that without the supervision and support of Professor Harriet Hawkins, this thesis would not have been completed. -

GERONTOPHILIA Gerontophilia: (jə-rän-to-fil-e-ə)- - noun - the love or sexual preference for the elderly. Pier-Gabriel Lajoie Walter Borden Katie Boland Marie-Hélène Thibault FILMOPTION INTERNATIONAL presents a 1976 PRODUCTIONS / NEW REAL FILMS production GERONTOPHILIA A FILM BY BRUCE LABRUCE 82 minutes / Color / 2.35 / HD / 2013 SYNOPSIS 18-year-old Lake has a sweet activist girlfriend, but one day discovers he has an unusual attraction for the elderly. Fate conspires to land him a summer job at a nursing home where he develops a tender relationship with Mr. Peabody. Discovering that the patients are being over- medicated to make them easier to manage, Lake decides to wean Mr. Peabody off this medication and help him escape, resulting in a humorous and heartfelt road trip that strengthens their bond. The always provocative Bruce LaBruce is back with a new romantic comedy (of sorts). INTERVIEW WITH BRUCE LABRUCE How did you come to the idea of a romance between a young man and an elderly? Over the years I’ve encountered a number of young people with very specific fetishes involving relationships with much older people, and it’s always intrigued me. I’ve been told stories, most often by younger men, of their first sexual experience having been with a man in his sixties or older, and there always seemed to be a pedagogical aspect to the relationship, as well as a deep affection. Sometimes it’s a one time thing, but sometimes the fetish seems to persist. I also made a film, Hustler White, about male prostitutes and their relationships to their often much older johns. -
The Perfect Son Synopsis
The Perfect Son Theo (David Cubitt – Medium, Traders, Ali), a thirty-year-old writer fresh out of rehab and struggling to put his life together, resurfaces in time for his father’s funeral. After having avoided the family for years, he is now reunited with his older more responsible brother Ryan (Colm Feore – The Red Violin, The Borgias, Amazing Spiderman 2), a conservative lawyer. At best unreliable in the past, Theo now makes an effort to rebuild the relationships he destroyed particularly with his ex-girlfriend, Sarah (Chandra West – Played, Salton Sea), a driven medical intern. A night of drunken passion ensues, but Sarah still has her doubts and their relationship remains on the rocks. Meanwhile the estranged brothers are forced to deal with one another but the same divisions are strong and the same old rivalries remain. Then by accident, Theo discovers one of Ryan secrets – Ryan is gay and is dying of AIDS. Suddenly, things change and Theo is drawn into Ryan’s life, discovering a person he barely knew; an unexpectedly loving and galvanizing relationship begins. What does it take to reconcile a lifetime of differences? The Perfect Son explores the meaning of responsibility and the challenge of overcoming the past. Alternating between humorous and deeply moving moments, this is ultimately an intimate chamber piece featuring inspiring performances by two of Canada’s best actors. Feore mixes an arrogant coolness with a sweet vulnerability and Cubitt’s charisma radiates. The Perfect Son is a journey that deals with attaining acceptance within the most inescapable social group of all – the family. -

President Nixon was in the White House and the U.S. was at war in Vietnam. The image of the picture‐perfect, stay‐at‐home housewife with the ideal husband and family was being threatened. Forces of change—a sexual revolution, the use of hallucinogenic drugs and a new founded challenge to authority—had crept into family rooms and dinning table conversations. Raised in a traditional Christian family, Perry leads a sheltered life, always doing what is expected of him. He has a wonderful virgin Christian girlfriend, Dorothy. He attends church with his family on Sundays and enjoys family dinners. He is following a career path that will prevent him from being drafted to fight in Vietnam. As a chemist he is book smart and company driven, but doesn’t know the harsh realities of the world. Everything he believes in is challenged the day he is chosen to be a jury member in a hippie death cult murder trial, where the defendant on trial is a strikingly beautiful woman named Leslie. -

That’s it. Raise it as a protest against all the injustices perpetrated against your kind. Raise it in solidarity with the weak and the lonely and the dispossessed of the earth, for the misfits and the sissies and the plague-ridden faggots who have been buried and forgotten by the heartless, merciless, hetero-fascist majority. Rise! Rise!” So declares Medea Yarn, the strident radical filmmaker in Bruce LaBruce’s film-within-a-film, Otto; or, Up with Dead People (2008). A zombie-political-porno, which, like most of La Bruce’s work, arouses, amuses, and repels at once, Otto is an incisive critique of gay consumer culture, and its mindless assimilation of bourgeoisie values. The critique has remained fundamental to the director’s queercore aesthetic since the mid-1980s, when BLAB (the artist’s chosen acronym) developed his prescient queer punk zine, J.D.s (co-edited with G.B. Jones). http://logger.believermag.com/post/87209818064/brucito-subversivo Page 2 sur 20 The Believer Logger - Brucito Subversivo — Brucito Subversivo 20/07/2014 18:04 Not surprisingly, his first feature films, No Skin off My Ass (1993), Super 8½(1993), and Hustler White (1996), with their B-movie depictions of taboo desire, from a skinhead fetish to gang rape and amputee sex, cemented BLAB’s cult status as the reigning daddy of queercore film. -
