DeWitt Parks and Recreation Presents… Foxtrot & Swing Dance Classes
With ballroom dance lessons starting thru Dewitt Park and Recreation, it's a great opportunity to join other couples having fun dancing. Learn from the best. Scheckel Dance Instruction has been offering quality dance training to Western Illinois & Eastern Iowa for 40 years. Whether you think you can dance or not, Dennis and Sandy will help you reach your dancing goals and have a great time doing it. The dances being taught are appropriate for modern music and the all time favorites provided at a variety of venues such as clubs, weddings, blues festivals, big band dances, and 50’s & 60’s performances.
No dance experience required at the basic level. For those that already dance, higher levels are offered to review, learn new steps, and new dances.
Patterns being taught will be appropriate for ballroom and small dance floors. You will feel comfortable stepping out on the dance floor knowing how to floor craft, whether it’s a spot dance like Swing, Rumba, or Cha-Cha or the Line-of-Dance movement for Waltz or Foxtrot. Proper dance technique, frame, posture and beat identification will be covered. Hard soled shoes are recommended and a partner is suggested, but not required.
Ballroom dancing can be enjoyed for a life time, as a teenager and for those young at heart in their active senior years. It is great physical and mental exercise; while at the same time, being with friends or that special someone you care about. Register now.
Enrolled students are allowed to video steps taught in their class for personal use.
