E-mail: [email protected] Received: August 2, 2019 Accepted: September 11, 2019 Online Published: October 12, 2019 doi:10.5539/enrr.v9n4p23 URL: https://doi.org/10.5539/enrr.v9n4p23 Abstract Tree composition and ecological structure were assessed in Akak forest area with the objective of assessing the floristic composition and the regeneration potentials. The study was carried out between April 2018 to February 2019. A total of 49 logged stumps were selected within the Akak forest spanning a period of 5 years and 20m x 20m transects were demarcated. All plants species <1cm and above were identified and recorded. Results revealed that a total of 5239 individuals from 71 families, 216 genera and 384species were identified in the study area. The maximum plants species was recorded in the year 2015 (376 species). The maximum number of species and regeneration potentials was found in the family Fabaceae, (99 species) and (31) respectively. Baphia nitida, Musanga cecropioides and Angylocalyx pynaertii were the most dominant plants specie in the years 2013, 2015 and 2017 respectively. The year 2017 depicts the highest Simpson diversity with value of (0.989) while the year 2015 show the highest Simpson dominance with value of (0.013).

Guelly ( Maître de Conférences) komlan Batawilla ( Maître de Conférences) Koffi Akpagana (Professeur Titulaire) Laboratoire de Botanique et d’Ecologie Végétale, Faculté des Sciences, Université de Lomé Abstract Pollen analysis was carried out on samples of natural honey from apiaries located in the following regions: Danyi-Elavanyo, Danyi-Akayo, Igbélékoutsè-Béna and Azianfokopé-Takpla of ecological zones IV and V of the Guinean zone of Togo, where floristic surveys were conducted within a radius of 600 m around each apiary. This analysis of pollen taxa inventory 82 then 43 are identified to specie. This present work has increased the list of honey plants already known 28 new species example. Then, the richness of the flora honey of Togo passes from 79 to 107 species, or about 0,82 % of the flora Togo. The Leguminosae are richer in pollen taxa (i.e. 23,17 % of the all taxa identified). Overall, the “Arboreal Pollen” are represented as “Non Arboreal Pollen”, respectively 87 % against 23 %. Biodiversity Data Journal 2: e1049. doi: 10.3897/BDJ.2.e1049 Abstract The Dja Faunal Reserve located in southeastern Cameroon represents the largest and best protected rainforest patch in Cameroon. Here we make available a dataset on the inventory of tree species collected across the Dja. For this study nine 5 km long and 5 m wide transects were installed. All species with a diameter at breast height greater than 10 cm were recorded, identified and measured. A total of 11546 individuals were recorded, corresponding to a total of 312 species identified with 60 genera containing unidentified taxa. Of the 54 identified families Fabaceae, Rubiaceae and Malvaceae were the most species rich, whereas Fabaceae, Phyllantaceae and Olacaceae were the most abundant. Finally, Tabernaemontana crassa was the most abundant species across the Reserve. This dataset provides a unique insight into the tree diversity of the Dja Faunal Reserve and is now publically available and usable. This paper aims to infer the mechanisms governing species tree assemblages by characterizing the phylogenetic structure of a tropical rain forest in a protected area of the Congo Basin, the Dja Faunal Reserve (Cameroon). We re-analyzed a dataset of 11538 individuals belonging to 372 taxa found along nine transects spanning five habitat types. We generated a dated phylogenetic tree including all sampled taxa to partition the phylogenetic diversity of the nine transects into alpha and beta components at the level of the transects and of the habitat types. The variation in phylogenetic composition among transects did not deviate from a random pattern at the scale of the Dja Faunal Reserve, probably due to a common history and weak environmental variation across the park.

EVANS USDA/Animal Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) 2 Introduction Mound & Halsey (1978) listed 1156 species in 126 genera of whiteflies (Aleyrodidae) in the latest catalogue of the whiteflies of the world and their host plants and natural enemies. Since then, several new genera and species have been described and others have been synonymized with previously described taxa. Martin & Mound (2007) recently published a checklist of the whiteflies of the world that includes 1556 species in 161 genera belonging to three extant (living) subfamilies (Aleurodicinae and Aleyrodinae), and one fossil (non-living) subfamily (Bernaeinae). The subfamily Aleurodicinae is primarily New World in distribution and includes 118 species in 18 genera. The subfamily Aleyrodinae is worldwide in distribution and includes 1424 species in 148 genera. The subfamily Udamosellinae includes 2 South American species in the genus Udamoselis. The information included herein was extracted from the literature and includes unpublished records of whiteflies and their host plants, distribution and natural enemies taken from the FSCA, USNM collections, in addition to records of whitefly parasitoids in my personal collection. I have also included records of species intercepted at U.S. ports of entry on shipments of imported products, but have listed them separately from the other host and distribution records. I wanted to include these records to indicate the possible occurrence of these species in the supposed country of origin, but with the understanding that the actual occurrence of these species in each country must be confirmed by collections made within each country.
