Panamax is nearing completion at Baltic Yachts and no effort is being spared to optimise this yacht for her spectacular first sail trials in spring 2011. Although she is yet to even touch water, this 60 m ketch has been a great inspiration both for us and our clients.

Following on from the Spirit of Tradition ketch and Bugamena, we are working on a new plumb bowed 42 m sloop. More information about this yacht in design can be found on our website. And while you’re there look out for Annagine, an 34 m classic sloop that will soon be touring the inter- national regatta scene.

These are very busy times for the Bestevaer and Bestewind series of cruising yachts, with three new Bestewind 50s and four new Bestevaers in the range of 45 to 55 ft being built by K&M Yacht builders. Two 60 ft Pilot Cutter sloops from the same range are also under construction in Turkey. 42 m sloop in design endeavour for more information see the dykstra & partners website: www.gdnp.nl this newsletter is a publication of dykstra & partners naval architects | www.gdnp.nl | september 2010 expedition ketch long tall sally

This 110 ft aluminium ketch will explore destinations well off the beaten track. Below decks, a fully outfitted modern interior will ensure a comfortable stay onboard. The yacht will be the first in a fleet of identical yachts, to be operated under a co-ownership pro- gramme welcoming owners with a passion for adventure sailing. Dykstra & Partners Naval Architects was founded in 1969 by Gerard Dijkstra and for the first ten years was mainly involved with ocean racing. By the 1980s yacht design and the building super- vision of oceangoing sailing boats and fast short- handed racers had become a specialization, based upon Dijkstra’s experience as a skilled sailor.

Much attention has been given to research and development over the years. New designs are test- ed in towing tanks and wind tunnels, while hull and rig strength is studied with finite element analyses. Dykstra & Partners has earned global fame for award-winning yachts such as Athena, Adix, Adela, Christoffel’s Lighthouse, Windrose, Borkumriff IV, Endeavour, , V, Maltese Falcon, Meteor and Hanuman.
