Ward Comment Burniston & Cloughton The town centres areas which are pigeon fouled chewing gum on paths. Poorly presented buildings either occupied or not The footpaths in town centre are disgusting ,dirty and the answer I got when contacting the town hall was It is the shop keepers Burniston & Cloughton responsibility !,,,,,, Street cleaning ,especially town centre with regard to chewing gum litter .Local litter collections .Play areas for children ,Kinderland Burniston & Cloughton should be reinstated to provide a safe cheap adventure for them. Burniston & Cloughton sort paths out in outlying villages Burniston & Cloughton See below Burniston & Cloughton removing seagull eggs in the spring to cut down on children being attacked by them and then some streets will be cleaner Burniston & Cloughton Remove the eyesores e:g; the shoddy wall underneath the grand Hotel - easy fix Burniston & Cloughton Put spikes on buildings to deter nesting birds. Clean pavements of bird mess. Stop the cars using the precinct. Burniston & Cloughton More litter bins emptied regularly and penalties for people dropping litter Burniston & Cloughton more litter bin's Burniston & Cloughton More cleansing and of streets and parks Burniston & Cloughton Increased bin collections and the option to recycle more types of waste. Burniston & Cloughton GET THE PAVEMENTS IN TOWN CENTRE CLEANED Collect grass cuttings, Use volunteers to help and give rewards for savings off council tax, or vouchers with local retailers or other services, depending on hours spent assisting, Incentivise people, maybe use the skills of retired folk and the drive of younger folk to mix Burniston & Cloughton and improve communities and areas across the Borough. What else are you willing to do to help with a clean, green and attractive environment o be proud of?

Ward Comment to busy working for a living I believe I pay loads in tax so should not need to volunteer to work for free.it should come out of huge council tax bill and the rest Burniston & Cloughton I pay every year. maybe non working people on benefits could have the time to clean up their environment as they weren't busy at work. the fresh air and social aspects would be good for their well being too. Burniston & Cloughton Require those who can but will not work to "volunteer" on council lead environmental projects "Task Force" Burniston & Cloughton No mention here of improving the harbour! This is something I would definitely help with. Burniston & Cloughton No as I am elderly and pay a lot of taxes to pay for these services Hold regular, say quarterly, advice centres where a member or two from your Environmental Services department meets the public to tell us what can be re- Burniston & Cloughton cycled. It is a very confusing subject and such meetings would be a great help and should increase Scarborough's re-cycling figures. Somewhere central - in the Library/ Market Hall/ Tesco/ Town.Hall would be great. Burniston & Cloughton Helping to plant areas which are a mess in town Burniston & Cloughton Help support the lonely and isolated

There seems to be a plethora Burniston & Cloughton of new build schemes without the linkage to schools, doctors, dentist, transport etc. Out of town building means more pressure on town centre parking without integrated transport. I think a lot of work could be done here. More shops that suit all ages! Less anti social behavior, less seagulls, more toilets and seating Burniston & Cloughton areas. Implement schemes to attract businesses to the town centre (rent/rate free periods, etc). Limit the number of similar retailers to Burniston & Cloughton increase diversity of the high street. Clean the town centre streets, bird droppings everywhere. Too many boarded up shops, encourage landlords to tidy them or convert to Burniston & Cloughton a usable premises eg housing. Encourage more residential units in the town centre eg above shops or converting empty shops. Reduce the amount of vehicles which use the pedestrian precinct at all hours. I look at local large villages and wonder why don’t have the same quirkiness but supporting the larger stores why we desperately need Burniston & Cloughton The town centre seems empty and uncared for with little shopping opportunity or even browsing smarten up empty shops. Where able convert shops that have been empty for a long time into housing. Get businesses to extend their Burniston & Cloughton opening hours into the early evening to encourage people in like communities do abroad. Burniston & Cloughton Cleaner town centre .Especially as mentioned previously chewing gum -(Tax Wrigleys) . Good all day bus service . Burniston & Cloughton Difficult in these straitened times but something needs to be done to encourage or force owners of empty shops to keep them tidy. appalling empty shops dirty street and footpaths overflowing waste bins aon the foreshore No public toilets around the town and Burniston & Cloughton marine drive Burniston & Cloughton clean it up especially litter, empty shop fronts Burniston & Cloughton more litter bins on the pavements Burniston & Cloughton a lot of empty shops in scarborough, open up for the young Burniston & Cloughton cleaner and less intimidating This is a global problem:- Empty shops are "broken Windows" dragging everything down - Free Market isn't working - Council led : Burniston & Cloughton "Create a Town"

Ward Comment What does a vibrant culture and heritage mean .....????? I have lived in Bradford my husband lived in Blackburn both of these large Burniston & Cloughton towns have changed drastically for the worse Why ..? Property values devalued ,no go areas for police. etc etc That’s why we do not need to become culturally diverse ! Burniston & Cloughton Better publicity, more information Encourage supermarkets and theatres and cinemas to give free tickets to communities whereby community leaders can give to Burniston & Cloughton residents doing good deeds, helping keep areas clean, kids keeping out of ASB etc Burniston & Cloughton Get a decent cinema in the town centre, forget about the pie in the sky schemes at the North Bay Burniston & Cloughton Rebuild the Futurist! Perhaps use one of the larger empty shops to have displays of local interest including artifacts, more of a museum but with changing Burniston & Cloughton exhibits. Multi screen up and running as previously mentioned .Did not agree with open air theatre as opposed to refurbishment of Futurist ,to Burniston & Cloughton provide all year round venue. Burniston & Cloughton local tourist center east to find Burniston & Cloughton 'Council culture club' - Every month the town hall (Fabulous Value) runs a program of cultural 'cross art' events - ethically diverse Burniston & Cloughton Think of what Scarborough need

Burniston & Cloughton Proactive in bringing groups together in partnership with say supermarkets, police, social services and housing providers.

Low wages and long hours mean work life balance is hard, especially for my young family. We rarely get to spend time with Burniston & Cloughton our children and when we can because we are not at work we have very little surplus income to afford to do anything nice within the local area other than walks (which isn't always appealing to small children. Ward Comment Burniston & Cloughton Allow the police to actually police not be form fillers They are doing a difficult job as it is and b need support. Burniston & Cloughton More village local police present. Better on the street police present in town and target areas Burniston & Cloughton police on beats i live near town centre very rare to see beat bobbies See more police on the streets and roundabout and in the villages and countryside. Reopen closed police stations. Have a zero Burniston & Cloughton tolerance policy on anti social behaviour Austerity has meant local services are poor all over. Youth services, support for young families, mental health and substance misuse Burniston & Cloughton services struggle. Work with magistrates and judiciary to come up with integrated outcomes that benefit individuals and the communities they may otherwise blight Burniston & Cloughton Better policing and better CCTV. Better environment, clean streets etc. Burniston & Cloughton Can't speak about the town centre late at night but I generally feel safe in the borough. Burniston & Cloughton More police on foot Stricter controls on licensing hours - 11pm is late enough. Police to crack-down on off-licences selling alcohol to youngsters. Stop any Burniston & Cloughton business selling guns like the one on the corner of Eastborough and the sea-front - who can benefit from the sale of guns? Burniston & Cloughton the police should be more visible Burniston & Cloughton better cctv This is the safest place I've ever lived but the 'fear of crime' is disproportionate : much more could be done to highlight positions in the Burniston & Cloughton boro

There is no reward for working as wages are so low for the majority of this town. Ward Comment Tidy up the town and get rid of the dirt and the gulls Even the townhall front looks unkept No public toilets around the marine drive for Burniston & Cloughton winter why Offer reduced parking for longer periods Get business owners more involved in decision making at higher levels not just a nod to them Burniston & Cloughton More tourism off peak to support regular tourism Burniston & Cloughton Encourage diversity of visitors rather than the Blackpool kiss me quick revellers Burniston & Cloughton More advertising on TV etc

The borough needs more quality aspects, and a more positive approach to lifting existing facilities to be of a better quality - be it food, shops, culture & environment. Importantly, local businesses, hotels and accommodation providers also need to take a stronger and Burniston & Cloughton revised approach to offering better quality (as opposed to cheap) accommodation etc. Currently we have too many day trippers, who come to the foresaw and spend their money with a hand full of businesses and the remainder of the borough has to support this. More culture, more quality and more overnight visitors would lift business for far more businesses, employers and all residents.

Ward Comment Stop encouraging homeless to come to Scarborough we cannot afford anymore This is not a politically correct statement but it is the Burniston & Cloughton truth We need to look after our elderly residents and people who live here and pay their taxes first Affordable housing we have enough for the percentage of residents Burniston & Cloughton Affordable housing! The Home Choice scheme is flawed. Homelessness services are inadequate. People know how to play the system (national legislation) not the fault of local administrators. Affordable housing needs to be in the right places, with peoples security and Burniston & Cloughton safety in mind. Northstead Flats wants demolishing and regenerating. Community hubs needed for youth services as well as Alcohol and drug abuse support Enforced purchases of empty homes to enable them to be brought back to market rather than developing new homes in inconvenient Burniston & Cloughton locations. Encourage more housing within the town instead of all the greenfield sites we are getting now. Discourage second home ownership, Burniston & Cloughton increase council tax for them also holiday lets, all a complete waste of usable housing Burniston & Cloughton I am not aware of details appertaining to the councils activities in this respect. Enforce landlords to keep the outside of properties smart and well maintained. Encourage residents to maintain tidy gardens. Keep on Burniston & Cloughton with the licensing of landlords into other areas of the town. Burniston & Cloughton Give funds/more funds to organisations which help the homeless - Salvation Army etc. Burniston & Cloughton stop spoiling smaller villages with over development Burniston & Cloughton more affordable housing including building apartments not just houses. Burniston & Cloughton force landlords/ owners of empty properties to let it or renovate it. reduce number of holiday lets Burniston & Cloughton fill your empty houses in scarborough I think the housing stock is generally very good - we have no , no slums and reasonable access to a home: More social starter Burniston & Cloughton homes needed

What else are you willing to do to help with a good quality home for all?

Ward Comment How will you bring empty properties back into use There are plenty of empty places above shops in the town centre why not use them It is a crazy system when a owner wants to convert an empty space in the town centre and the council ask Burniston & Cloughton for thousands of pound for an application So look at this first before building homes in rural villages where there are no spaces for children in school no regular bus service Get real Burniston & Cloughton why not use the empty properties above town centre shops not without services to go with them hospitals dentists jobs over populated areas are going to be a real concern in the Burniston & Cloughton future if services aren't working. need enough places in good quality schools docs hospitals dentists Lobby to actualy reduce 'Ghetto' type caused by bringing in socially hard to place individuals to fill Burniston & Cloughton spaces
