We at Landal GreenParks feel close ties to our surroundings. This is also why we opt for green and sustainable solutions that help us to protect and preserve nature whenever possible. These solutions include the use of electric vehicles on our parks, the installation of recycling stations to enable our guests to separate waste, and our cooperation with (regional) partners including Natuurmonumenten ('Dutch Society for the Preservation of Nature Monuments') and Vogelbescherming ('Dutch Society for the Protection of Birds'). This has resulted in the award of Green Key certification to our park (see also landal.nl/greenkey). Are you interested obtaining a full insight into our sustainable activities? If so, surf to www.landal.nl/ betrokkenondernemen.

Green Key certification This park has received certification from Green Key, the international seal of approval for sustainable companies in the and recreation sector. Green Key certification is awarded to companies that have integrated sustainability throughout the park's entire operations. The aim is to always go one step further in terms of sustainability. This not only relates to the organisation itself, but also encouraging the whole chain and partners.

The Green Key standards focus on a wide range of issues such as promoting the separation of waste, the use of biodegradable materials for cleaning and the economical use of resources such as gas, water and electricity. They also focus on reducing the number of chemicals used for gardening, increasingly opting for electric vehicles, using and selling regional products and purchasing sustainable products and services.

A number of Landal GreenParks have already received certification, and Landal's ambition is to have received Green Key certification for all its parks, in every country, by the end of 2016. More information is available at: www.landal.com/greenkey.

What GREEN can do We at Landal GreenParks feel closely to our nature, our immediate surroundings and the people with whom and for whom we work. We refer to this as sustainable and engaged entrepreneurship. But how do we do this?

Nature at our parks At Landal, it goes without saying that you'll be surrounded by nature. That's why we make a special effort to highlight natural features in and around the parks. Examples of this include: offering walking and cycling excursions, a bug mansion (at many of our parks) and supervised wildlife trails.

Local and honest When it comes to food and drink, it's logical for Landal to predominantly opt for organic, local and Fairtrade produce. As such, many regional products can be found on our menus and our park shops stock local products. In addition, we are increasingly stocking Fairtrade and ecological products.

Less traffic Dealing with nature in a sustainable and engaged way also means doing our utmost to keep carbon dioxide emissions to a minimum. We achieve this by using electric vehicles at our parks wherever possible and by keeping lorry trips to a minimum.

Social enterprise Landal works together with various social enterprises, including: The Society for Nature Conservation, the National Fund for Child Aid and the Lung Foundation.

Less paper, more digital We are reducing the use of paper at our offices and parks by going digital more and more. An example of this is that almost all our booking documents are now sent digitally.

Handling waste effectively Predominantly, Landal works together with Van Gansewinkel in order to sort and recycle waste. New developments are always taken into consideration. In addition, our parks are equipped with recycling stations where the guests themselves can separate paper, glass and other waste.

Sustainable accommodation Where possible, sustainable options are chosen when building, furnishing and maintaining accommodation. What does that involve in practice? Most of our accommodation is fitted with smart room thermostats, LED and energy-saving lighting, water-saving taps and environmentally friendly sets of crockery. We are also increasingly looking at ways in which we can produce energy sustainably and we always choose the most sustainable options when it comes to equipment in the accommodation.
